Upon entering, there was a minimal amount of tables, and a lot of open space. When entering, I noticed a server on her phone, and another server who just told us to sit wherever. So we sat wherever. The floor was of maroon color type, and not a clearly lit room. This almost has of an atmosphere that needed to be improved.
The chair's vinyl was ripped and needed to be repaired. The table itself was not large enough to fit a group of 4 people.
When we sat down, it took them a while to bring us the menu. Even though the servers can clearly see you, waiting for them, they make minimal effort to come attend you until it's convenient to them.
There were 3 people on the job, for a very small place. You do not need that many servers for only 3 or 4 tables of people eating.
The salsa was already out, on the table. It is unclear how long it has been there, and there is a health hazard there as well. Having food out, open, for people to eat for an unknown amount of time.
When I ordered, I had to order a cup of water, because they did not bother to bring you a cup when you sat down. Other locations, they will bring you a cup of water as soon as you sit down. While ordering drinks, they did not have all the Mexican favorite drinks such as Jaritos de Pina. As for the antojitos (bites), they did not have Huaraches. This is also a very easy dish to make. If they can have Sopes in the menu, they should have Huaraches as well.
After ordering, we had to wait for more than 5 minutes just for a basic cup of water. It should not take that long for someone to bring you water.
When the food was coming out, my food was the last to arrive, even though it was the easiest, simplest dish to make: sopes.
The sopes, I know it to be skinny and not elevated on the edge. This sope, it was more of a tower of food instead. Not the traditional serving of a sope.
I must admit, the food was actually good! Eating it in the building itself. When I ordered again, "to go", it was not as delicious as before, and my dish actually had bones in it and the flavor was not there. As for the bones, they should be removing the bones before serving it to the consumer.
Now, the Carne en su Jugo, that was also ordered, they wanted to charge for avocado. No where else has charged for avocado in the Carne en su Jugo, but here. The flavor was not entirely there. Other places had a more deep, rich flavor.
When done with the food, I wanted to order for "to go", and was waiting for the waiter to come by. There were 3 people on the ground, and two of them were busy on their phones, while the last one was occupied with a customer, at the cashier. She, the one occupied, was our original server. (If only one person is working, what is the role of the other two employees who were on the ground?)
I had to wave my hand for a good 3 minutes, trying to get their attention. I was also thinking of calling the establishment and request a "to go", as well as for the check.
My overall rating of this place: 2 out of 5 stars. They will try to charge you for expected items and will give you the minimal...
Read moreI must say it was an exceptional experience at Birrieria De La Torre. Upon entering I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant had a cozy yet vibrant ambiance, with tasteful decor that added to the overall charm. The staff members were friendly providing excellent service. For my meal, I decided to order four tacos, two asada, and two al pastor, along with a large horchata drink. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed! The tacos were a true delight. Each one was expertly prepared with fresh, flavorful ingredients and served on warm, homemade tortillas. The asada tacos were tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned to bring out the rich smoky flavors. The al pastor tacos had a tantalizing combination of savory pork and vibrant spices, leaving my taste buds craving for more. The portions were generous, and the presentation of the food was impeccable. The tacos were accompanied by a variety of garnishes, including fresh cilantro, diced onions, and the salsas, which added an extra burst of flavor to each bite. To complement my meal, I opted for a large horchata drink. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess, with hints of cinnamon dancing on my palate. The drink was served chilled, providing a refreshing respite from the savory tacos. My dinner experience at Birrieria De La Torre was outstanding. The tacos were superb, the horchata was delightful, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. Whether you're a taco aficionado or simply looking for a delicious meal, Birrieria De La Torre is a must-visit...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I found this place just driving by. The nice lights caught my attention. Walking in, you're a little apprehensive. It looks a little worn. It was about 930pm when we got there on a Saturday. We figured we would try it because of the time. What a phenomenal treat it was! I had the taco dinner (lengua) and my bf had the chicken and cheese enchiladas. Half green, half red. The lengua was sliced thin-ish. Just right for the flavors to mix perfectly with the cilantro and onions. I had flour tortillas. They werent homemade but large. Their salsa verde had some real heat behind it. The flavor was not lost! The rice was authentic, with a lasting flavor. I dont normally eat the beans but I tried these and loved them. They do have a very diffrent flavor than youd expect. They make goat there, so we think they would pair really well with that meat. The enchiladas were wonderful! The red sauce was both our favorites. Not very much heat but the taste is so savory, you have to have more. The green sauce was a bit bland and very hot. They cheese helped with that but I think I would get all red next time. We had the horchata to drink. Very rich and creamy. Its homemade and well worth it to try. Chips and salsa at the start but nothing to write home about. Over all, the place was great! We will be going back. Were going to try the goat. By the way, the waitress is so kind and helpful. She speaks spanish but understands English perfectly. You'll...
