Cubanito Express — Restaurant in Lake Township

The food is delicious. This was actually my 4th visit with 2 weeks. However their customer service today was 👎. Before I even got home I made a video post telling people that this was a must visit restaurant. Got home and realized that they gave me the wrong sandwich. My mistake for ordering a steak sandwich at 9am but not specifying that I wanted the breakfast sandwich. Just having to go back and fourth or having to explain myself instead of offering a solution right away was disappointing.

Update: Thank you for the response. It still feels like the focus is on why it was my mistake for assuming I would receive a breakfast sandwich. As the experts on your menu, a simple question about which steak option I wanted could have avoided any confusion.

When I reached out, I was hoping for a straightforward solution without needing to push for it. Instead, the way this was handled made me feel like I was just trying to get a free meal. Returning the sandwiches wasn’t an option, as I’d bought them to share with my family, who were already eating by the time I realized the issue.

The food here was absolutely amazing! It’s a Latin dine in restaurants so there are various recipes and dishes from many ethnic Spanish cultures. The Cuban sandwich with three different varieties of meat was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. It was well prepared and put together they really know how to cook here! They had five different dipping sauces. One was Argentinan and another was Mexican both very good dipping sauces. The regular fries taste damn near better than McDonalds fries no lie told here and the yuca fries are so good two you can’t go wrong with either one. The ropa vieja was also very delicious. The carne was well put together with the beans adding a special kick of flavor and a sweet plantain. Empanadas are also very good some of the best that I’ve had here in Chicago. Also the smoothies are really healthy and delicious as well they really care about leaving a great impression with the foods and drinks. I’ll definitely be back! First time experience. Ordered the cubano sandwich, white rice, black beans and the empanada trio of chicken, ropa vieja and lechon. First, the three empanadas were delicious and flavorful. My favorite were the chicken and ropa vieja. The pork from the sandwich was kind of bland. I expected more cuban flavor/seasoning. Once I added the chimichurri sauce it was better. The black beans were good ,but also needed more flavor they were also kind of bland. While waiting for our food I kept hearing the microwave going off. I though to my self "oh no I hope none of my food is being cooked in the microwave" and I believe my rice and beans were warmed up in the microwave. They serve the rice and beans in these cardboard containers and u can taste that the rice was warmed up in there. Also everything is a la carte so the sides have to be purchased separately at $5 each instead of coming with the sandwich. I will give...
