My husband and I had our wedding reception at Wonderburger and it was an amazing experience! I've been waiting to post this until I have some photos to include - but those are still coming so I'll add those later.
SERVICE: Beth worked with us to coordinate the entire event, answering all of our questions we had and helping us make decisions with menu, layout, etc. The day of the event, Beth the entire Wonderburger team was SPECTACULAR. The wait staff was SO helpful and responsive to all of our guests. They were attentive at the bar, and even circulated before speeches, always making sure our guests had a drink or anything else they needed. I can't tell you how many people told us how amazing the staff was - SUCH ROCKSTARS! Also, as the couple, during the reception you get wrapped up chatting with everyone and Beth even went out of her way to make sure we ate and asked if we needed anything. Seriously 10/10 service, such great people all around!!
FOOD & DRINKS: The food itself was delicious and a great crowd pleaser - who doesn't like burgers?! We had appetizers, our main meal, and a late night snack. Each course featured a variety of options, even including vegetarian options. Our drink package featured a wide variety of beers, cocktails and more at a fair price. We received lots of compliments on the food, especially the spicy cheese curds, burgers and wings.
VENUE - The venue was small enough to be intimate, but spacious enough where we had room for dancing or just hanging out. They were flexible and accommodating, letting us set up our decorations, and as Mount Greenwood natives we loved the Southside feel of the place. We even had the roof open during which was great - the fresh air perks of an outdoor wedding without the stress of a weather plan (We knew if weather turned bad we could just shut it.)
VENDORS - We brought in a DJ, photographer, and a Caricature artist for the night, which we were also able to fit into the space without any issues.
All in all, it was an incredible experience and I would not change A THING. The Wonderburger team is absolutely incredible and I can not recommend them enough. If you are looking for a unique venue, with great food, and A+ PERSONAL service - you have found it right here! Don't miss this gem!
Thanks again to Beth and the entire Wonderburger team for knocking it out of the park for our...
Read morePros: 111th Brunch Burger was very good! Lacking all condiments, I felt it needed a little sauce or something on the bun to keep it juicier, but overall a delicious burger! It does not come with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, etc but some people like their burgers that way. I did add mustard, but overall it was very tasty and filling!
The service was excellent as well I was attended very well and the bartender was super friendly a helpful!
The beverage list was plentiful and had something for everyone, I felt.
Cons: The fries stand out but not because they are Curly Q's. First off, the fries felt a little overdone and had No Seasoning whatsoever! Not even salt was present on them and it felt like I was eating a crunchy potato. A few of the fries well cooked fine, but the majority were too dry. They were sliced pretty thinly,, which may have added to them being overcooked. I would suggest cutting them at least twice as thick as while larger in size would also take up more room on the plate. The portion size was ok, but definitely not worth $4. Maybe $3 and a thicker cut with at the bare minimum, salt would make the fries topnotch!
Another BIG CON are the Loaded Fries! The expectation were fries slathered with shredded bacon, cheddar and sour cream. What was received were the plain fries, which was confusing at first, but then I received a SMALL (I believe it was 2oz) cup of shredded cheddar cheese and another SMALL (also maybe 2oz) cup of what I think was nacho cheese with like two tiny bits of bacon. Sour cream was never brought out! There is an upcharge for this and I felt VERY Turned Off by this as I was provided with maybe $0.05 of actual product, yet was upcharged $1.50 for it!
Overall, the burgers make me want to go back, but the whole fry experience was a big letdown.
I may give this place another chance as all other...
Read moreAte here with a friend who grew up in the neighborhood. This was always kind of to the area what Top Notch is to Beverly.
Though I think Top Notch has a better burger, this place makes up for it with atmosphere and a great beer selection.
I’m really surprised by the reviews because I am insanely picky about my burgers. I asked for a specifically prepared burger medium rare with cheese and toppings and I got exactly what I ordered. It was pretty good. The fries were also unique and unchanged in style from what I remember when I last ate at Wonder Burger a decade ago in their original location.
The beer I ordered from a massive drink list of mostly local breweries paired well.
The price wasn’t what I’d call reasonable, but considering Top Notch increases their prices across the board recently (and is their most direct locally-owned competition) it wasn’t totally unreasonable either. Unfortunately the price of everything is going...
