Jessica's Bakery — Restaurant in Lake Township

I first went to Jessica's Bakery last year November to order a Minnie mouse cake for my niece 3rd birthday. I was extremely pleased with the finished cake, which was made using fondon and cost me $30. I have spoken about that cake for months on how good it tasted and how well it turned out. I had no doubt in my mind that I was going back to the same place. However, this afternoon I went back to order another birthday cake, the first employee used a calculator and when I looked at the total it said $70, then I was told the price would be $90 by someone else. When I asked, why there would be such an increase in price, she informed me it was due to the amount of cake and the fondon. I told them it was for 10 to 15 people. They said they can't do a cake that small, it has to be for 20 people or more. Then I asked to get the cake made with buttercream, was told it would still be $90. The other thing that bothered me was both women spoke to me in Spanish only, even though I spoke to them in English, however I understand enough Spanish to know what they were saying. Finally I asked why the previous cake which was made using fondon was $30 and this one that would be the same size would be $60 more, I still didn't receive an answer. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed and will never buy anything from this bakery again. Went in on January 6th to buy a rosca bread and when i opened the box to cut it it was very hard and tasted stale. They were closed so i called this morning and the manager said it was non refundable and that i should of came yesterday to complain. I stated that i was working and when got home they were closed. I also told her the whole rosca was untouched except for the one bite that was taken that made me notice it was an old one.
