Juanitas mexican food — Restaurant in Lake Township

EDIT: I'm pretty sure this restaurant is a front for something. Hopefully, they actually serve food sometimes.

I want to give a good review because I had an amazing quesadilla at a 5k race in Pilsen once. But they were "closed" during business hours the two times my wife and I came down to the south side to try more of their food. Once there seemed to be one small family eating dinner at a single table, no one else in the restaurant. They said they were closed. 2nd time, during business hours, we saw people inside, likely staff, standing and sitting around. They came up to the door and told us they were closed... Unfortunately we won't attempt another trip. Why have business hours? My not change it to "appointment only" or change the business to a catering service so you don't have to hold regular, public hours? Look out for flies. I bought food and drinks from this place. Right after paying and getting my food my wife said there was a fly in her mango water. I told the owner there was a fly in the drink and she said she wasn’t going to give me another water. I asked her if she was going to lose a customer for a water and she said yes. On top of my wife getting the fly in her drink the people from Juanitas continued to serve customers from the same container to customers. I told her if she didn’t give me another drink that I was going to give her restaurant a bad review and she told me to go ahead, that she would just take it off. Another girl, I think was the owners daughter told me to stop bothering. That I was not going to get another drink because the ingredients in the drink were expensive and they’d lose money if they gave me another drink. Unbelievable is all...

My husband and I came to this restaurant and we ordered pambazos and tacos. I have been looking for a great pambazos place and this was perfect. The tacos are great in my opinion. The hot sauces are comfortably and flavorful spicy. They serve your tacos with cucumbers on the side and at first I thought that was odd, however, when eating the tacos with the spicy sauce…it is the perfect thing to balance out the spiciness. My husband had their cucumber and lime water and he said it was delicious and perfectly balanced flavors. The gentlemen serving us were very polite and attentive.
