El Nuevo Taconazo Restaurant — Restaurant in Lake Township

Let me start by saying that my sister and I arrived, there was probably 2 other people. As my first time here, I didnt know if we sat ourselves or not. Finally asked if we were ordering for here or to go and told to seat ourselves, no problem. Sat there for a while until she came up to give us menus and ask us for drinks and brought those back pretty quick. Simple Coke and Diet Coke. As a habit, I always wipe down my cans, but they were filthy. We asked for a straw and she didn't come back with one, other waitresses had them in their mandil. I had to get up and ask for one. At this time there was probably a couple that came in. Food came out quick, brought out by another waitress, not the one that took our order. Had a torta de milanesa de res and a taco de asada, pretty well seasoned. Sister had tacos de asada and a gordita, which she didn't complain about. We also ordered guacamole and chips, which for $12, I expect more than 5 chips TBH and cebollitas, which were bigger than expected and very salty. The guacamole tasted rancid, had large chunks of old, brown avocados and we ended up getting it taken off the bill. Pretty disappointed in the guac, waitress reminded me it was $12, like I wouldn't want it, but my sister and I always get guac and chips regardless of price. Besides bringing the menus, taking our drink and food order, she didn't check in at all. She would tend to the party by us and we just noticed she'd look over at our table, but never ask how things were. We ate and when finished, we waited... and waited.. and waited. She finally came up to us, I let her know about the guac and asked for a box, since I didn't eat all my torta and had a few cebollitas left. Overall, food was ok, but customer service is lacking real bad.

I have order from here several times due to the fact that it’s one of the few places that stays open late. I understand they are usually busy for this same reason but after my order from today I will not be returning. I ordered 4 items total. I got quoted 15 min for my order. I live 10 min away driving. I took my time and got there 35-40 min after I ordered. I purposely took my time to be able to go in pay and be out after paying but I still had to wait. My order was a chicken torta and 3 gorditas. One gordita was supposed to have beans and potatoes and it did not have the beans. My chicken on my torta was burned to the point where the meat just tasted burned. So I decided to call the restaurant back to let them know they got half of my order wrong. The cashier told me she spoke to the cook and he did forget to place the beans in one of the Gordita’s and that if the torta was too burned that I could take it back and get a new one. So how does it make sense for you to offer me a new torta WAIT yet again and waste my gas to do another trip to your restaurant after you just told me your cook said he “forgot”. I would also like to point out that they only had 2 tables occupied in the whole restaurant and 2 other take out orders besides mine so it was not a busy night. I used to enjoy this place food haven't dine in since the pandemic started. But last night changed everything will not be back or recommending them. The vibes were off and the service and cost just didn't added up. First when we got there we sit down took a second for them to come to us and the place wasn't busy on the dine in. Second we order, food came out in a timely manner, but my quesadilla w/ chicken haven't came and our meal is almost done. My friend went to ask about it and what they brought to the table was not a quesadilla like I have had in pervious restaurants, so I wasn't interested or pleased and in that moment I didn't want it and let the waitress know and she tells me oh we want charge u this time but next time u won't take food back. That right there too me was uncalled for. From there vibes got weird and I ask for a break down of the bill, since she was so busy trying to answer the phone, when it's time for us to pay and avoid the questioning I felt the disrespect. Whole bill said miscellaneous charges and our two dinners and a drink. Either she/establishment charges for toppings on the tacos or she got the money back for the quesadilla by doing...
