I visited last Wednesday, 1/30/2019, when it was -13 degrees. I had to pick my daughter up at Midway, and flights were not cancelled, yet, so I Googled "breweries near Midway" and Open Outcry was the only one open at a time I needed it to be (11:00 a.m.). I was also impressed with the reviews posted there, and then I went on Untappd to see that the beers were reviewing well, so I was excited to visit. Much to my initial dismay, I pulled up, and the scene looked like the picture above - chairs on the table, so it didn't seem open. Then I watched as that truck pulled in behind me, and a guy opened up the doors and went inside. I still wasn't sure if it was going to be open or not, so I called and asked if they would be opening today. The guy on the phone was John, and he explained that due to the weather, they were not going to be able to open, but he was there and would fill crowlers if I wanted to stop by. And then he said, "Hey, are you the guy out there in your car?!!" Ha, yes that was me. And he asked how far I had traveled, and I explained I was from Indianapolis, but stayed in NW Indiana with my parents so I could pick up my daughter, etc., etc. Came to find out that John is the owner, and he was beyond awesome in not only talking about all of the beers, but telling me about the history of the place, and how he had come in to build a server station with wood he was removing from an old barn that he owned. He asked if I wanted the TV or jukebox on, and just went above and beyond to serve this one beer-hungry customer. And the two beers I had were amazing: The Dodd-Frank (Blueberry), a milkshake IPA, followed by a Dark Pool with Metroplis Coffee Beans (Barrel Aged), a Russian Imperial stout. It was so good I took a crowler with me. He explained that they were down to four taps of their own due to the popularity of the beer, but more was being brewed, and the brewer, Wil, was actually already there working, and I got to meet him as well. All in all, I was so impressed by what John has done with the place, and how he continues to enhance the space (in July he added rooftop seating). The menu looked fantastic, and from the reviews I have seen, many others think so as well. I will be returning often, and I will be taking many friends with me. Again, I immediately got the feeling that John was passionate about the place, and his work, and the beer and the food and the experience people were going to receive...

Let me preface this by saying if it were possible to give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. This place most certainly deserves all the stars. Ever.

We were NOTHING short of amazed and wowed by our first (of many) visit to this brewery. The bartenders Dan and Kate were extremely knowledge and friendly, and the entire kitchen staff is top knotch! The owner John was present, helping tidy the dining room whilst simultaneously taking time to check in with all the guests. Being in the industry myself, it's very refreshing and encouraging to see an active owner caring so genuinely for the happiness and well being of not just the clientele, but the staff as well. In the short time we'd spent there (again, our very first time) we came to feel like old friends with everyone there. That's exactly how warm and welcoming the owner and entire staff were.

Their house drafts offer a wide variety for nearly every palate, they have a nice selection of guest offerings, and their cocktails are killer! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY 100% recommend the arugula and prosciutto pizza. It was a revelation! I feel I may be spoiled for life now. But I will suffer the consequences of said spoilage if it means just having the memory of that divine pizza in my mind. It's like being touched by the hand of god. Truly, a religious experience.

My only qualm is that the food truck and bar don't operate together, so you have to open two separate tabs. Definitely not a deal breaker by ANY means, but it was a tad bit inconvenient. Honestly though, it's a small price to pay for phenomenal food, delectable libations, a varied and delightful selection of in-house and guest beers, unrivaled ambiance, and personable service that you just don't see very often these days. We're not locals (unfortunately), but we're already planning our next trip. An all-around amazing place like this is near-impossible to find!

Thank you so much, everyone who was working today. You helped make an already wonderful Saturday something memorable and sincerely...

This place has gained my total respect and appreciation as a staple of the Beverly area.

I do have some feedback that will be mostly positive. For one, I tried going in once and was not told that the kitchen was closed until I sat down. As the customer is expected to pick up the food from the food truck window area. This was frustrating as my girlfriend and I were really hungry that day. Yet, they were very understanding and let us leave before getting our drinks as we asked for them to be cancelled. I think this issue can be solved by having every server tell you about their food process (i.e. food is ordered at the window and drinks are brought in by servers).

However, we decided to give this place a second go when we went tonight. It was a great experience. My girlfriend and I decided to split a three pig pizza and the Western Ave burger. We really enjoyed the pizza as a whole and for me I wish the crust may have been slightly thinner at the beginning but as a whole it grew on me as we ate it. For the Western burger, I thought it was okay my girlfriend and I just had a small bite as we were full from the delicious pizza but I could say the sauce in the burger was delicious. However, I felt that the patty itself could have been seasoned a lot better allowing for a richer taste. I could have seen this burger being spectacular but it was still good regardless.

When leaving, my girlfriend and I were walking out and realized we forgot our left over burger. One of the employees had thrown it out. However, they were nice enough to make us another one despite it being our fault. This place was a little pricey but the food and drinks are pretty good. The service alone deserves it to be a 5 star...

Came in on a Friday night with 3 people and sat up on the rooftop deck. It was not very busy. Less than half the tables were occupied. 2 servers working. It took about 5 min for a waitress to come to our table and then 20 min for our beer to come. Our food then came out very quickly but with only one set of silverware. In my opinion the food is very heavy-handed. The veggie pizza "Napoleon " style had big pieces of red pepper and waaay to much base level shredded mozzarella. Edible but not good. And certainly not worth $18.50. The Greek salad was $14.00 and also very heavy handed. Very large pieces of lettuce. Again not worth the price. With slightly more attention to detail with the same ingredients, it could be fine. We then ordered one more cocktail which the server forgot. We needed to flag our server down to ask for the check and boxes. They brought the check but no boxes. They then shared that 20% gratuity was included, which is not cool. I typically tip above %20 but weigh the service and experience. This service was not worth %20. I would have like to know that up front. I asked for the receipt and boxes again. They brought the boxes but never the receipt. Things took way too long and the food was not on par with the cost. Will not dine here again. With some small management focus, this place could be great. The atmosphere was very pleasing. Beer was ok. Service needs work. Drop the automatic %20 and servers will make more and do better.

Awesome experience, was a perfect start of a Chicago visit to attend a concert. This place is a microbrewery, with a full bar, dining room and kitchen featuring a wood-fired pizza oven. You can see their brewing operation in the dining area as well as through a window behind the bar. The dining room is full of character, long tables with yellow metal chairs and some tables set up with swings for chairs (check out the photos). There is a dining area upstairs on the roof as well; but we didn't go there. Wife and I ordered salad and a wood-fired 12-inch pizza for two. Tried their own brews, I got the Hefeweisen called 'Bona Fide', wife got their double hazy IPA called 'Citrium'. The salads came and it was huge, came in a shoebox sized box. The croutons were homemade and well seasoned for the classic house salad. We weren't done with the salad by the time the pizza arrived. The pizza ordered was 'The Spaulding' having a tomato sauce base, pepperoni and jalapeños covered with their 50/50 cheese (provolone and mozzarella); fired in the wood oven then drizzled with a honey sauce. Oh SO good, perfectly matched my Hefe! This was the best pre-load for a rock concert, ever!

I went on June 30 for dinner. There was no wait. The atmosphere was nice. Open seating indoors as well as outdoors, which is the rooftop. We sat on the rooftop. There is a water station where you get your own water. For food, you have to order downstairs and they'll bring it to you. There is a waitress/waiter to take drink orders. My overall experience was pleasant, but I was deeply disappointed with my "pizza". It was more like an extra crispy flatbread. I ordered the arugula & prosciutto pizza. There was hardly any mozzarella and prosciutto. They piled the arugula in the center of the pizza. The amount of arugula was perfect, but was not proportional to the cheese and prosciutto. I was expecting more mozzarella. It should at least cover the pizza, but it didn't. Each slice had one mozzarella as depicted in the photos. I took off the arugula, so you can see what's underneath. The crust wasn't great either. It was neither thin crust or normal. It falls more into the extra crispy flat bread category.
