Pepe's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lake Township

Was my first time going to a Pepe’s. It was pretty quiet not many people dining in. The waitress was nice and did her job. But the food just simply wasn’t good. And let me tell you, the fact that they conceal prices is a huge red flag. I decided to give the “mar y Tierra” plate a try and it was not what I expected at all. The guacamole looks off, probably bc of bad avocados. The sauce they drench the rice is wasn’t good. The meat tasted off. And the beans were horrible. I’ve tasted better canned refried beans than that. Like I said, they covered up the price... and that dish turned out to be almost 37 dollars!!!! Had I known the steak and four-five shrimp were gonna cost that, I would’ve walked out the door and just gone to a fancier steakhouse. Definitely not worth all that, come on.

My family member’s food was also off, and had a slight wrong smell to it.

This place sadly isn’t Mexican food. You can brand it as so but it’s a lie. Not authentic whatsoever. Will not be returning since the only good thing we had was the pink...

Let me start by saying I simply love this place. On Tuesday's it Long Island night and the Bartender Hosea is #1 However on 11/28/2023 I decided it time to go So I ask the waitress for my Bill. I gave her my Card So now Im waiting on her to return with my card and receipt I'm wondering what's going on with the wait So I walk to the otherside of the restaurant I said where my card and receipt at. She tells me I gave it to you And say excuse No you didn't. I did sign anything she tells me you don't have to sign your receipt anymore I say THAT B.S. TO MAKE the long story short this Lady gave my card to someone and when I tell you they try to go to town and charge my #$%& up. I'm upset But my bank is handling the problem as we speak. The salsa and Spanish rice was very good, but the taco dinner I had was horrible. The waitress was not attentive at all and we were the only patrons in the restaurant for the majority of the time. Instead of refilling our cups with water, she placed a pitcher of water in the center of our table. After receiving our bill, we were charged for items we didn’t receive, and we found out 18% was added even though it was only 3 people at our table. We were later told a 4% fee would also be charged if we paid with a credit card. The food was bad, the service was awful, and our inattentive waitress was attempting to take advantage of us. We requested a corrected ticket without the card fee n the 18% fixed ticket rate. I would never go back to...
