Taco Tuesday was an utter disappointment! I was enticed by the curated social media videos to try this restaurant. Aesthetically, the decor is a VIBE! On the contrary, from the onset the service was less than desirable. I was the first guest inside of the restaurant when they opened at 4 pm. The hostess walked by several times before she finally decided to seat me at a wobbly high top. I moved to a nearby high top that was steady. The menu on the table was a paper copy that appeared to have been stepped on after it fell onto a wet spot. My server, Emily, came over with an aura of haughtiness to take my order with her Toast POS. She never made eye contact, didn’t suggest items that would be great to try, and appeared to be in a hurry. I order for the endless tacos and cocktails. She immediately stated that I needed to give her a credit card to open a tab. I perused the soiled menus for the open tab policy and credit card requirement. I found no such policy in writing. I asked her to provide me the policy in writing and she rebutted that she would have to collect my payment before the order could be placed. Of course this establishment has the 18% gratuity regardless of the size of the party or unsatisfactory service. I informed her that she can bring me my bill and I’ll be paying cash. She quoted me the total. I said “OK!” She returned with a receipt priced at more than she had quoted. Imagine my confusion. She then stated that a discount had been applied. I’m even more confused! The quoted price from the Toast POS was $88.13. I gave her $100.13. She returned with an accurate receipt and later returned with $11. My confusion is at an all time high! I showed her the correct math calculation on my calculator so that she could provide me with the proper amount of $12! The haughtiness of her behavior has been increasing throughout this entire exchange. It is concerning that this is how she shows up to SERVE patrons. The chicken tacos were dry and bland. My cocktails were phenomenal! The music 🎶 playlist was enjoyable. From the photos I’ve uploaded you can see I was the first patron of the day. If you can’t provide exceptional service for one customer I can imagine how service is subpar when it’s busy. If the nasty menu wasn’t concerning enough, there wasn’t any soap in the restroom! There were empty toilet paper rolls on the floor in the restroom stalls. The toilet paper was not in the dispenser. Luckily, I carry personal hygiene supplies with me for such instances of inadequacy. Compared to my other reviews, this is the LONGEST review because my server was horrible and never bothered to correct herself! When I got home I read other reviews and noted experience was not a one off. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I decided to try out the endless tacos! In this economy, every patron should be treated with decency and respect! Servers need to be trained on hospitality, voice tone, and delivery. Servers handling cash should have the math skills to return the correct amount. I WOULD NEVER HAND OVER MY CREDIT CARD to someone who behaved like Emily...

Read moreI’d give more stars, but I’m just disappointed in my server’s judgement. I ate here many times before and loved the food. However, I recently dined here and felt “scammed”by my server. I am a server myself, and I understand automatic gratuity. Most places put this on checks of 6 or more but more importantly tell you it’s being added. My party size was only 3 and NOWHERE SAID they add this automatically to your check. The server never brought a physical copy for us to see if it was added, didn’t say anything, and when she handed me her handheld, she actually had it on the screen where you add additional tip. I know toast, usually it gives you the screen that says additional tip kinda signaling a tip is added. Again, I am a server, I tip even tipped on my To GO food. When I hit the blue button I seen there was the total + 18% + plus my tip which I did my math off the total (not knowing that was the total plus automatic gratuity) I told her oh I didn’t know the tip was included, can I go back. She said no and I just felt maybe had some kind process to make a little extra. I do not think it’s morally right. And may not go back to this place for awhile; I am curious on how many other people you doubled tipped without knowing because it is not said there is an automatic gratuity to each check, not...
