Captain Shrimp — Restaurant in Lake View Township

I wanted to try a new place that specializes in serving high quality shrimp. I found this place on Google Maps and was extremely excited based on the reviews. I walked up to the counter with that excitement only to be shot down by the very blah cashier. I still showed my enthusiasm and told him that I found their restaurant online and wanted to give it a try. He didn't thank me or acknowledge my comment. He asked what I wanted to order. My first instinct was to walk out, but I drove an hour from the Northwest Suburbs. Upon receiving my order, the cook gave me the same blah attitude and pretty much handed me my order and said nothing...not..."Here you go", "Thank you" or "Have a good day". The food was fantastic, but the service was very mediocre. Businesses need to realize the importance of customer service. Customers are the lifeline for any business. Good customer service is essential and will assist in creating new customers, keeping loyal customers, and developing referrals for future customers. Will I visit again...not sure. I have no motivation to drive an hour only to be treated as if my business is not important or appreciated. If I received both a good product AND good customer service, my answer would be definitely! Staff is extremely friendly and quick to turnaround orders. It's a small establishment with several tables and high top seating next to the window.

Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich: The sandwich was a decent size and came with shrimp, pickles, shredded lettuce, and a remoulade sauce. I ordered mine with no tomato. The sandwich was flavorful and the shrimp was fresh. The sauce also carried an added kick which was really good. I recommend getting an extra side of remoulade sauce so you can put more on if you like.

Hush Puppies: A side order comes with 10 hush puppies and oh boy are they good! You can hear the cook deep frying them in front of you so you know you're in for a treat. They come with a side of honey butter but you can pop these in your mouth without anything they're so tasty.

Crab Cake: I got a side order of crab cake and they are massive. They could almost be considered a meal. They are flavorful and the breaded crust provides the perfect crunch and contrast to the crab filling.

I’ve been here twice my first time was phenomenal I had the jerk wrap and the wings the wings was so good reason why I came back the wrap was good as well I feel like they could’ve added more chicken it was literally about 4-5 pieces of chicken throughout the entire wrap it was flavorful tho so my second experience which is today I got a pound of wings I guess to save on food they gave me 4 super big a** drums blewwww me!!! Last time I came I had a mix of drums and flats but I only got the 3/4 pound of chicken I also tried the catfish strips don’t like em at all way too fishy Thai will be my last time for $25 I’m blew just off these overly steroid drum I got oh and for the toddler side of potato salad was decent taste store bought...
