I was excited to try this place out, thought it would be kind of a Mexican-Asian fusion, but when we got there it was mostly just a Mexican food menu. No big deal, we ordered a margarita and got our food orders in. There were three of us at the table and unfortunately it took about 10-15 minutes to even get our drinks. The place was not that crowded but the margaritas were refreshing. However, when it came to food, each one of our orders came out at a different time. It also took quite a bit of time to get food. My friend ordered the fajitas and his rice and beans didn’t come out until we were about halfway through the meal. We might have just hit it on an off night. Our waitress was very nice and apologized. Then we got the check and realized the margaritas were 13 dollars. I think it was more sticker shock than anything, but I did not feel that the margarita was worth the 13 dollars. The fact that there was no drink menu should have been our first clue as to the ridiculous price. This place is BYOB so I would just bring your own booze if you go in there.
The place was very clean and had a good vibe but beyond that I don’t see any reason for us to try...
Read moreGreat Food! I visted Dos Ricco's along with a friend after sending her a few links of websites. This was after seeing a few restaurants on the WTTW Check Please. We decided to try out Dos Ricco's. We went during lunch time. The restaurant is located in the Lincoln Square area in Chicago. It's a small place, however big enough on taste. We shared chips and salsa and guacamole. The chips were crisp. The salsa arrived to our table warm and tasty. The guacamole was to die for,we both really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the chimichanga burrito. I order the Burrito Suzza. Wow! It was spicy. My burritos was filled with rice, beans, cilantro and cheese, and onions. Of course that kicking spicy sauce. Chef Ricardo Meza warned me in advance. He came out to our table making sure everything was okay with the food. He was very pleasant and enjoyed talking about the food he cooks and general talk. I would recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the Lincoln Square...
Read moreI was expecting much more from this place based on location but it was meh at best nothing special at all... menu is very basic and I mean it doesnt have most things it has online which is sad to see lunch menu better than dinner, usually dinner is where it's at. The agua horchata tasted very weird, I could swear they put anis on it, the appetizer is quite small for the price almost as entrees and didn't wow me, I asked my family and they also agree with 3 stars... maybe they need to work on authenticity because their hot sauces aren't even hot, its Mexican its suppose to be hot that's the whole point. Will not be returning because I only return to places with 4 stars or more sorry but if ur looking for authentic Mexican u won't find here, try 26th street if you're looking for authentic...
