The worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
The pizza itself was decent, but after factoring in the rest of our dining experience, I would have rather had a $5 Hot n Ready from a Little Caesars located in a K-Mart.
We had a group of 13, and were sat at three different tables, which is expected with a big group and completely acceptable. We had no problem splitting up and were just ready to enjoy some Chicago Deep Dish.
However, the service was deplorable. The staff had no sense of urgency and did not care about their customers' needs. Simply requesting more napkins was apparently too much to ask. Many people in the group did not get their salads, drinks, etc on time, or ever, and although we were patient, the staff was never even the least bit sympathetic.
Turns out they simply did not care, because they were planning to grat the entire bill anyway. Many of us have worked in the service industry before, and never tip below 20% to start with. We appreciate good service and do not have unreasonable expectations. After all, it was the middle of the afternoon and not at all busy. A pizza may take some time to bake, but a simple drink refill shouldn't require three reminders.
But here's the real kicker: without warning, we were given ONE check for 13 separate orders, and asked to go around to every table, divide and add up the already added gratuity and tax, and figure out each person's order on our own. Again, 13 people from three different tables looking at one receipt, and having to write down each person's total and credit card number on the back. I could maybe understand not splitting it 13 ways, but at least do it by tables or print out more than one receipt, please.
Then, some people's cards were charged an additional $100, and we only knew because we each checked our bank statements right there on our phones. They were also unapologetic to this fact.
The entire process took about four hours including an intense math lesson. No managers were available to speak with, but our server got her 18% tip, and apparently that's all that matters there.
If you're looking for some delicious Chicago pizza, PLEASE avoid this location at all costs. I am typically not one to leave bad reviews, but I have never witnessed a more ridiculous restaurant situation than this, and a stuffed pizza is not at all worth the headache to follow.
Save yourselves the unnecessary struggle. There's plenty of great...

Read moreI dined in with 3 friends (one whom works at corporate for a nation-wide pizza company) and we ordered a small meat & small margherita. Super great server asked if we wanted them deep dish (the menu offers deep dish, thin, & super thin) to which we said, sure. We asked if the roasted garlic could be added to both- no problem. We get the bill and it’s $22 more than what was anticipated. The server was great and kindly told us that each topping was rung separately, even though we only added garlic, because it takes the pizza from the standard to a “create your own.” We inquired further and the manager came over. He said that “substituting toppings” affects cost and they have to account for the cost of all the toppings, and that changes it to a “create your own.” I explained that we did not sub any toppings, simply added one additional topping to which the menu claims $1.85. We had checked— the menu did not indicate that a simple add-on upped the price like that, nor was it mentioned to us. The manager stated that, “It’s understood here that adding a topping makes it a create your own.” I replied that clearly it wasn’t understood here, it wasn’t noted anywhere on the menu, and that Detroit’s similarly highly acclaimed pizza place (PizzaPapalis) doesn’t up the charge by a third to add garlic. He also said, “Well, you also got deep dish and the Margherita is a pan pizza.” I said, “The menu offers deep, thin, & super thin- it doesn’t denote that a pan pizza is different from any of these. After giving us another excuse that the system automatically changes the pricing, he said he would take $10 off. And while appreciated, that wasn’t even half of what the upcharge was… (and the slight ‘tude wasn’t appreciated, either). This was our first time at this specific location and it certainly will...
