Terrible waitress. Attitude. Felt mistreated. Terrible customer service! So my grandma and I decided to try this place. It’s been around for a long time she stated. But it’s been years since she last came here. So here we are! Mind you I didn’t know parking was in the back of the restaurant so I drove in circles for about 10 minutes till I found a parking near a meter. Paid the meter to stay about an hour. I walked one block down with my grandma and my 2 1/2 month old son in his jogger stroller. We walk in and the first thing the white waitress says is are you taking him out of the stroller? No greet no nothing. At this point I should’ve turned around but because my grandma insisted we stay we stood. I said no I wasn’t because he’s only 2 1/2 months. She insisted I sit by the Christmas tree which was a table for 2 directly near the door. Again I said no thanks. He’s an infant and I’m not sitting next to a door. With an attitude she walked away as I continued to find a place to sit. Small dining area but we found the biggest table that was empty and moved a chair over and bang we sat! The waitress has horrible customer service. She greeted everyone who came after us and that was unfair! I will not recommend anyone here nor...
Read moreReviewing this is a non-local and I overall had a good experience. Forget the history of this place, location by theaters and jazz bars. I wanna focus on the food.
Overall the food is pretty good. Just stick with breakfast. I ordered a gyro and instead of tziki yogurt sauce I got tartar sauce. They have a huge menu but those aren't their specialities. I can't give 5 stats simply because of the rest of the menu. You can't have that huge menu featuring things like scallops, burgers, gyros, Mexican food, seafood, dinners, etc and have all that food be mediocre and still give them 5 stars. Their breakfast is good though. Their toast comes pre buttered. Their coffees are pretty good. Their fries are pretty crispy. But again the other foods are so boring they may as well be straight from the frozen section of the grocery store.
With that said - prices are reasonable.
Service isn't bad. They have too few employees and yet they seem to work quickly enough that you never have to wait too long.
Great ambiance. There is only one bathroom for men and one bathroom for women, so expect to wait...
Read moreBefore I even start, this restaurant accepts CASH ONLY. There is an ATM strategically located inside the restaurant. The diner is nothing to look at from the outside. But inside you’ll find an American diner atmosphere with booths and Tiffany lamps. Their clientele is eclectic and diverse. The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant. Service is super efficient with waiters moving briskly from table to table. Unfortunately we have been having typical breakfast fare of egg, bacon etc the last few days, I opted for the meatloaf, a quintessential American food I’ve never tried. We also ordered the Whiting fish and chips that came with a soup and a dessert. And we gad to order an eggs over easy, bacon and hash browns. The meatloaf was not bad as I had nothing to compare it to. The gravy was good and the mash smooth and hot. But I wouldn’t order it again. The whiting was decent but again it wasn’t their specialty. The eggs and bacon was good. It is an breakfast joint after all. Prices were fair and affordable. So through our experience, do go but order the breakfast items. Oh,...
