Love Street? Love it!
Ambiance is low lit, refined, romantic, modern, speakeasy / cocktail bar. A breathe of fresh air from all the dive and sports bars you'll find in the area. Great spot for enjoying awesome cocktails, whether it's a pre-dinner drink, a nightcap, or just looking for somewhere a bit more low key. Definitely a great date spot!
Seating is open and bartenders will make rounds to the booths and hightop table to take orders. Menu is divided into shaken & stirred cocktails, and a handful of wines, beers, and some small snacks (chips) to munch on. We tried the sazerac (rye, cognac, demerara, peychaud's, angostura, absinthe $12), used book (rye, meletti, cynar, strawberry, angostura $12), and a kentucky bramble (bourbon, honey, lemon, blackberry ~ $13). Honestly each of them were unique, fantastic, and very well balanced. For sure, the kentucky bramble was my favorite of the three.
The listed prices are inclusive of tax which was nice as there wasn't any additional sticker shock when the bill came out. Overall I think the price point is excellent for the quality of drinks and ambiance. I think the only I could probably nitpick was the music was a tad bit too loud upon entering, but honestly after two rounds I was speaking louder and could still make conversation just fine. Maybe just the alcohol talking... Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood and worth a stop for the...
Read moreOver priced drinks for the amount they give you. My drink was no joke filled up less then half way with the rest of the glass being filled with ice for $14? Very limited seating and not to mention our bartender did not even speak to us once. He made eye contact, gave us a menu, came back and looked at us which seemed the way he telepathically asked us for our drink order. And then came back and just set our half full drinks down. We wanted to try the “dealers choice” where you ask your bartender to surprise you with a drink recipe but with his attitude that day we did but even bother.Steer clear of the ye high guy with glasses. He hates his job. Definitely not coming back, too many other places in Chicago to get...
Read moreLove Street is a great addition to the Lincoln Park neighborhood! This cocktail bar has a full menu of unique cocktails. I had the Kentucky Bramble (bourbon, honey, lemon, and blackberry) and it was delicious (and on the sweet side, just so you know). Partner had the small batch bourbon old fashioned and he was very pleased with how smooth and flavorful it was. Prices are high but the drinks are exceptional and worth the cost! It is dark in there - it was still light out when we were there but it was hard to see in the back because of the black walls and low lighting. Was very happy to see that they had gender neutral...
