Mas Alla del Sol — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Seriously the BEST guacamole! Get the Alla Mas one with mango, jicama, and pomegranate seeds! Everything is perfectly flavored and spiced down to their coffee! An fantastic service as well!!! Can not recommend more highly!!

Updated 2/7/2019: Still have yet to find a better Guac! I have been back twice since my review and still just as fantastic! Sunday brunch was very tasty and fresh!

Updated 10/23/2022: finally made it back and still the best F-ing guacamole you can find. Description above. Soooo good. There pollo en mole was on pointe as well!!! Took advantage of a warm October night to do sidewalk patio for likely the last outdoor meal of the year. Love this place. Price is a little higher than other Mexican places but it is elevated Mexican faire at its finest!! Family owned and operated.

It was a great ambience, the chips came immediately and we very well done. The salsa was the perfect consistency for most people. I prefer mine a little thicker and hotter but I'm a little different. We had ceviche which I love, but I'm more of a barebones ceviche guy, so the additional tomato paste gave it a sweetness that wasn't my preference. Freshness was amazing though. The margaritas were good. I had the blood orange and pomegranate, while my friend had mango. If you want something a bit sweeter, definitely go with mango. He had the salmon while I had their specialty the Tampiqena. Mine was the clear winner, but I typically do not order salmon from restaurants. It was good, but I feel they have so many better options. I typically come to this restaurant quite often. Their tampiqueña is EVERYTHING! Best in Chicago thus far. I’ve been to many restaurants to try out their tampiqueñas and none of them are as good as theirs. The salsa they offer with the tortillas chips I find it to be so spicy, but yet so good!
