Horrible experience, I came in with a picture to show Vivitale (hairstylist through Groupon) how I wanted my hair. She gave me a completely different hair style (An uneven bob cut from the 90’s) and was in a hurry to cut it (she had back to back customers). I asked her several times that I wanted layers, she said (yes, I made layers), my hair did not have layers. She finished and said (ok, and brushed my hair off of my shirt with a wet towel (rushing). The other stylist (seemed nice), charged me for the hair cut and gave an extra $10 tip (after giving $6 tip on Groupon). I. And home three block walk to my house and looked at myself in the mirror, called Vivitale back and asked if she would have time to fix my hair (it was not the style I wanted and uneven), she became upset and said “Yes, that’s the style you wanted!” I said “No, this is a bob cut,” she said “No, I’m busy today and I don’t work for free,” I said my hair is uneven also. She said “that’s why I no work with people from Groupon! They want haircut almost for free and I no want to work for people with Groupon.” I told her that she was unprofessional and I would be giving her a bad review. Long story short, now I have to find another hairsalon that can fix my hair on short notice (I am flying out to Barcelona tonight). Thanks to pregnancy my hair grew pretty long. I wanted to keep the length but get a trim to make it look more polished. My former stylist moved to the suburbs so I wanted to find someone/ someplace local that didn't charge ridiculous prices. My search led me to Wave of Lake. Less than half a mile away from my house, only one $, and had overall good reviews. I was even able to make an appointment online! So I booked an appointment with Christina for the following morning. I was expecting to pay maybe $30 at most for the trim but Christina said she needed to shampoo, condition, and blowdry my hair, too so the total was going to be $45. I agreed to the price and off to the sink I went. I swear that hair and scalp massage is the best part of getting my hair done! :) After the cleaning she blow dried my hair and then started trimming. She even styled it after using a straight iron and brush. A little over an hour later I was left with silky smooth and well trimmed hair. Made a last minute appointment. Asked for full head of highlights. The owner made time for me and was super friendly and I had a great experience. I have high standards and I'm super picky. Despite my super last minute appointment she took her time with me and was: accommodating, patient, and pleasant. I enjoyed my experience. (and I hate getting my hair cut let alone colored). I am looking forward to returning. I love my hair. I am including before and after pics. I know that my look is intense and maybe even a little extreme but it is/was exactly what I asked for.
