We went out on a limb and tried a new (to us) place. We read the Google reviews and decided to try it and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The food is delicious!! We started with a couple of margaritas, fresh made chips and salsa, a couple of margaritas, the baked chicken empanadas for an appetizer, had a couple of margaritas, Mexican Meatloaf, brisket tacos, a couple of margaritas, churros and bananas in a rum reduction served with bananas over vanilla ice cream followed up with a couple of margaritas. Each dish was made with the best and freshest ingredients. The restaurant was immaculate and tastefully decorated. We were greeted and seated immediately and the drinks and food quickly followed. Clearly, this is a neighborhood favorite as the takeout business was busy. I can’t think of any negatives. Everything exceeded expectations. Don’t pay attention to any of the negative reviews. Try it yourself and you will see those aren’t accurate. Thank you Que Rico for a delicious meal. Patricia’s family recipes are a treasure. I am already looking forward to...
Read moreThis place was way overpriced. It was our first visit and we just wanted some good Mexican food, nothing fancy. We had two entrees glasses, two glasses wine & one fountain soda and it cost $90 with the tip. $90!!! The food was average/bland and nothing special. The chips and salsa were good, and the server was great, but that was about it. We got the check apparently they CHARGE for refills on fountain soda...??? I complained to the manager and told her that this is something that should be made clear and she laughed and said nowhere in the city has had free refills in 15 years....?! LOL my boyfriend and I eat out 3 to 4 times a week in Chicago and I've never been somewhere that doesn't allow free refills on fountain soda. I know some Mexican restaurants have bottles or canned soda so in that case I get it but fountain soda?!? Save your money. For what we paid here we could have gone to some of our favorite places downtown and had a much better meal for the same price. Love supporting local places but not when it feels like they're only...
Read moreHonestly this is one of my absolute favorite dining spots in the city the family that owns it the woman is an incredible cook chef and blends her menu in a stunning way the mushroom soup that we had this past weekend was to die for I mean who would have thought in New Mexican restaurant you could get mushroom soup but it was out of this world the family parts of the family work there on and off. The owner and host are Charming super educated very refined and not too bad on the eyes either, her whole operation sings. We stopped going there quite honestly for about 3 years because of one bad waiter they had that just turned us off completely and we decided to try again back in the middle of the summer and of course we're recharmed and red delighted and re-enthralled and we learned that that particular wait staff person had been let go and the owner was upset with us for not having told her 3 years ago instead of letting her find it out on her own So Good Humor on that. I cannot recommend this place highly enough do yourself a favor and...
