Worst experience ever. Only customers getting service were at bar & they had all been there awhile. Bartender/waitress greeted us when we walked in, but took at least 10 minutes before she came to our table. Asked how long for a pizza & she said “20 minutes, fast.” I ordered a beer that was delivered warm & 50 minutes later we got our pizza & a Caesar salad we ordered along with pizza- both came out together & pizza cheese was burned & chicken on salad burned & dry. Waitress explained that several pizza carry outs had just come in before our order & that the oven is small - how long do customers wait when they’re busy, we were the only sit-down customers in the place? The atmosphere was laid-back, regular neighborhood bar. The bartender was on point making sure everyone had what they needed. We opted for the Brew Buddies and a 16” Original Joel, perfect for 2. They were both really good, but what really takes the prize is the pizza, the crust was thin and cracker like. I’ve had my fair share of Chicago thin crust and this one really caught me by surprise, the sauce and amount of ingredients was perfect. I would fairly say it’s a 9.5/10. Side Street Saloon is the kind of neighborhood gem that makes you feel right at home the second you walk in. I popped in on a Friday night with a buddy, and we split a 14" Original Joel pizza—thin, crispy crust loaded with sausage, pepperoni, and giardiniera. We also grabbed an order of cheese curds with ranch on the side. The pizza was top-notch, and the curds were perfectly fried. Total came out to around $36, cash only, but there's an ATM on-site.
