I went there with my old roommate because I wanted to avoid going to Starbucks and support a smaller business. However, I ordered an 4.50 large iced coffee and ended up playing 8 dollars. The barista failed to mention that a splash of non dairy milk was an extra dollar as well as a single pump of flavor was an additional dollar as well. 4.50 is purely for black iced coffee. I did a double take and asked the cashier if I may have gotten charged incorrectly and nope she reassured me I was wrong. Not to mention that by the time I walked out the ice was already melted and the drink had no flavor whatsoever despite me paying 2 dollars for the “flavor” the pictures I added are taken minutes after I ordered my luxurious 8 dollar coffee. I don’t want to give my money to Starbucks but needless to say I would have gotten a more stateful coffee there for less the price. Despite that, the coffee shop is really cute and nice nice to sit there and work and the owner is a very kind and has now offered gluten free options which I will give him credit for.

This is my absolute favorite coffee shop! I've lived in Uptown for 3 years. My boss recommended Lost Hours shortly after it opened. Since then, I've been coming here weekly for over a year and a half. Tim is the owner. He is very nice and so are the baristas. I've worked while having my coffee and pastry inside, and I absolutely love it. The coffee's are so delicious. My favorite drink is the Shiv Special. Ever since the barista, Shivon, came up with the recipe, I've never looked back! Also, they have the best merch. For every item purchased, you earn a free drink. I bought their merch over time and earned many free drinks. This coffee shop is definitely a must to check out! #SupportSmallBusinesses

Cute space with creative specials — the PB&J latte was spot on (but a bit pricey) The Lost Hours is a charming little coffee shop in Edgewater with a cozy, handmade vibe and a menu that leans playful. I tried their monthly special, the PB&J latte (caramel, blackberry, and oat milk), and was genuinely surprised — it tasted exactly like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, in a weirdly delightful way. Staff was friendly (though more chill than chatty), and the space is great for a quiet hangout or solo work session. My only real gripe? Over $8 for a 20oz latte felt a little steep — even for a specialty drink. Still, if you’re into unique flavor combos and a mellow vibe, it’s worth checking out.

| TLDR | White Chocolate Latte is a solid choice, relaxing chat space, and a unique coffeeshop right off of Broadway. Now here's the inside scoop:

| Pros | ☕ Coffee: tasty run-of-the-mill lattes with large assortment of syrups (hot latte 12oz = $5.50 w/o tax) 🛋️ Seating: ample seating, blue couch, classic wooden chairs, and independent study tables too 📶 Great WiFi: clocking in at an avg. of 153 Mbps, you'll be able to take Zoom meetings with ease (I just asked for the wifi code since I didn't see it haha)

| Things to Consider | 🔌Outlets: at least for most seats here, no outlets were present. Not sure if this'll change, but would be dope since the WFH scene in Edgewater is strong!

Overall, Tim and his staff were very welcoming hosts and have an eye for quality coffee, hospitality, and customer care. If you ever wondered which coffeeshop to visit in Edgewater that'll give you some small-town coffeeshop vibes, check out...

As the designated Realtor for Edgewater, Chicago by the Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR) - Diversity 77 Committee, my favorite past time is stopping by our communities local businesses and I must say, I truly love the latte's at "The Lost Hours Coffee Shop". For anyone driving through Edgewater, Chicago, this is a MUST coffee shop to stop by into. The owner, Tim is amazing! He is a Edgewater resident and loves what he does. This past November 2024 they celebrated their 1 year of being open. Tim, doesn't only have coffee on the menu, he also offers amazing pastries and baked goods from other local businesses on his menu as well. Yesterday, I hosted an event at "The Lost Hours" and learned more about the artist that Tim features for the coffee shops murals and that local customers are incorporated into the murals. How...
