I ordered from the Chipotle website and my order ended up coming from this location. It was the worst order I have gotten from Chipotle in a long time! This is my second or third time ordering from online for delivery; this is my first time ordering for delivery from my new place in Chicago. I got a chicken burrito bowl with double meat, a side order of guac, a tortilla shell, and 1 steak taco. The steak taco barely had any meat on it. I used my fork to move all of the veggies around and sure enough...barely any meat. Also when I bit into the taco, there was so much water that oozed out! The taco instantly got soggy. The tortilla shell was so hard when I tried rolling it into a burrito, it started breaking and crumbling! It’s supposed to be soft. My chicken burrito bowl also barely had any meat. I paid for double meat and it was like the restaurant only used the little scrapings left in the bottom of the container while they made a new order of chicken! I got chicken scraps, not chicken! Overall, I would NEVER order online for delivery again; especially if my order has to come from this location. I will pass. Chipotle thinks that they can screw you over just because it’s a delivery order and it’s not like you can do anything because the food has already been made and delivered and who is going to go out just to return an order?? But during a pandemic, everyone’s dollars count! If someone orders from a restaurant during these times, it’s a blessing! So don’t screw them. I know restaurants all over are hurting, but so are customer’s pockets. If someone chooses to spend their money at your establishment,...
Read moreI have not been impressed with the professionalism of team members as of the last few months. They are not overly friendly but I don't expect much from Chipotle. However, a recent evening's experience was abysmal. The line was out of the door when I arrived. Luckily it was announced that white rice and tortillas were out and many people left. The team lead was in over their head. It was chaos as someone took what was left of the white rice from the online order station only to be move it back to the in-store space.
I watched as someone put a new batch of chicken in place. He checked the temp and then pulled the whole tray. Someone asked why and he quietly said it was ten degrees out of temp. I didn't hear what happened next but it was quickly restored on the line.
Throughout this time the team lead struggled to keep order and exude any sense of control. I had so little faith the Chicken was cooked properly and food safety was being met, I ordered the soy option. Upon checking out there was almost no space for my bag as the online orders had completely filled out the checkout area.
I'm done with this Chipotle. New leadership is needed for...
Read moreToday, I decided to grab some takeout from Chipotle, which is conveniently located just up the street from my house. Although I've never worked in food service, I do know what a clean and quality environment should look like. Unfortunately, the food preparation areas at this Chipotle were in a terrible state. There was food scattered everywhere and sour cream smeared on surfaces, and it seemed like the employees didn't notice or mind the mess.
For me, a clean work station is essential—it helps reassure me that the food I'm about to eat is prepared in a hygienic manner. Seeing the disarray at this location made me so uncomfortable that I decided not to eat the food I had just purchased. I didn't want to risk getting sick; two days of illness isn't worth it to me, so I opted to take a financial loss and find another place to eat.
The takeaway from this experience is the importance of maintaining clean food preparation areas. It makes a significant difference to customers like me. Given this experience, I’m unlikely to visit this Chipotle or another one...
