This should easily be a five star review any day of the week but unfortunately not on this occasion and being my first visit. Classic dive bar vibe that I will always have an affection for with a no frills approach and lots of clutter on the walls . They had apparently just opened on our early Sunday afternoon visit and the boxes of beer to be put away were all along the bar but who cares about that it’s a dive bar and probably proud of the label. Nice beer selection and I chose an IPA from a local brewery and my wife had a nice sized pour glass of wine. After a while we noticed that it was totally silent and no music was playing losing some of the ambiance. I politely asked our bartender if there was any chance of accommodating us with some tunes of their choice. Her answer of one word was jukebox. As someone who will go out of my way to support local none chain bars I was not in the mood to pay for music and chose to move on down the road for my next beer. I’ll never let one barmaid who may be having a bad day to stop me returning to any establishment but on this particular day it just...
Read moreAll the daytime bartenders I've encountered are friendly and quick. There's their usual day crowd and then evening and late night regulars. The bar serves several types of beer,a few on tap, basic wines and full liquor. No food there but you can call and have something delivered. Good place to sit and watch the world go by on the front benches or their covered patio that connects to the small parking lot behind the bar. Only 1 pool table that's damn near impossible to play on since it's in a small nook and way too close to the walls. Always something witty on their sign out front. Surprised there's not wrecks w/ppl trying to read it or take a pic. You could sit for hours looking at all the cool and eclectic stuff in the bar. It's a smoking bar so if you're put off by that, don't go. There's a handicap parking spot and entry is accessible but only 1 person can fit in the bathroom, definitely not a wheelchair. If you want to see where the locals go, this is it. If you're looking for a place to take your first date, this is...
Read moreGrowing up in WPB, there are a few places that the locals swear by. Harry's is one of them, my absolute favorite watering hole in all of South Florida.
Drink and smoke to your hearts content here, but warning: your clothes will reek of cigs in an hour's time. There's an outdoor picnic-like seating area they built a few years back that's really nice for small groups. In all my years coming here, I never tried out the pool table. I think maybe because it's so crammed in that little nook that it never looked appealing to me.
Be sure to bring your DD to this spot with you, since drinks are like $4 and they go down quick. If you're a beer person, it's best just to get a pitcher. I have no idea the exact cost because I'm always "take my monaaaay idc" when I'm there, but I think it's like $9?
Of course, your night wouldn't be complete without having a one-on-one conversation on the front benches outside while watching the cars go...
