Having patronized the I.G.H. and Eagan locations over many years, I was excited to see there was a Lakeville location near my elderly father's home so I could share what has always been a good, nay, great, experience with this franchise.
Not anymore. Order was for Turkey hoagie with extra cheese, well done — extra cheese, yes, well done, not so much. Not even toasted! And the thing was SMALL. Order of cheese bread — not even toasted! Cheese barely melted. Order of plain chicken wings, ordered specifically for my father as he loves wings. I honestly can say I've never seen any younger chickens presented as wings. These wings were TINY, like these birds were newborns. It's bad enough to eat from the industrialized farming industry, but these chickens never had a chance to even stand upright, probably, after pecking out of the egg. Sheesh. I had to apologize to my dad for a bad experience.
On the plus side, the staff I encountered were great, particularly the person who took my order over the phone, and who was training another staff person on taking phone orders.
Oh, yeah, and I forgot to mention, upon arrival and paying the check, there is a 3% extra fee for paying by credit card. Really? I checked the website later this evening and, sure enough, there is the disclosure at the top of the pages in big bold type! Just kidding... Tiny type at the bottom of...
Read moreI surprised my 90 plus year old Mother to enjoy a pickle pizza. We entered the restaurant on Monday, October 14th for lunch. We waited at the front entry. A nice man (customer seated at the bar) told us to take a seat in the dining room Renae (employee ) came from the bar and said sit in the bar area! I explained that my Mother uses her walker as a seat and cannot sit at a high top or a booth. Renae didn’t like this -she said walk through the bar and sit over there. I explained that my Mother cannot walk that far and my Mother and I started towards the dining room which was very close. Renae didn’t like this and said with a mean ugly look -well I only have one server. We sat down in the dining room and waited patiently for Kim the server - who was distibuting shakers of cheese to empty tables. I went to the bar thinking perhaps it would be easier to place our order -Renae came out of the kitchen flashed me another evil look and proceeded to answer the phone. Kim finally appeared and took our order! Kim said she forgot about us. Kim mellowed out and then was very nice to us. We spent $65 including the tip. Renae I sincerely hope one day you are 90 plus and someone treats you as rudely as you treated us! FYI- I have always enjoyed the dill pickle pizza- today someone had sprinkled a lot of salt all over the top of the...
Read moreCould not believe the response I got from management after coming here for years. Spent almost $100 on food, primarily wings. Normally the wings are decent size. Not a big deal. Ordered three sets of wings and out of those three sets, one of them the wings were smaller than my pinky finger. I went in to ask about what they were going to do about it. As you can clearly see they're not the same size as all the other wings in the orders and I was told oh it's a wing shortage. You just have to pay more for smaller wings. What kind of customer service is that? Especially a loyal customer who's been coming in for years and as the manager say you recognize me? Not to mention they actually duplicated my order when they put it in the system so they had three sets of extra wings in the back that they were talking about throwing away! Didn't offer to take anything refund off my order..didn't offer to remake it with wings that match the same size in the other orders.. or even offer another free set of wings, especially when they've got three extras. They're just going to trash.. I was so frustrated with being so blown off by the manager. I will never order from this Carbone's again. So much for appreciating long standing and...
