We came for Easter Brunch. i have never been here before and we had heard it was known for its pizza. so i was a little skeptical about the buffet. But for 20/per i thought it would be decent.
First the reason they even get stars. the pizza was actually really good. i wish i had only eaten that. The service was great! we sat at the bar and the 2/3 bartenders were very attentive! promptly clearing plates and refilling drinks. Kudos!
Now the reasons they didnt get the other three stars. We sat at the very uncomfortable and wobbly-chaired bar because we overheard that the place was filled with reservations and the hostesses said the bar was clear. this was curious later because all the tables around us remained empty the entire time we were there. approximately 1.5 hrs. I'm not sure what the policy on reservations are but im sure many people could have been seated, eaten, and finished before the tables were needed.
Next was the buffet. the very small buffet. i was immediately disappointed when i got to the food. first it didnt look appetizing at all. second i had no idea what some of it was and neither did the lady in line behind me. i asked. i would have asked the staff but they seemed overly busy and the first time i asked she had to ask someone else. filling my plate with what i thought i recognized we sat at the bar and started eating what can only be describe as foodstuffs. mostly bc i couldnt tell what it was. the bacon didnt taste like bacon. the eggs tasted like chalk, as if it was poured from some artificial mix from a store. i asked the bartender if they were made with real eggs and she said they were. which made me think how in the world did they make regular scrambled eggs taste like this? it got more confusing after i ate a biscuit breakfast sandwich. the egg in that tasted normal, but the biscuit was gummy. my first plate was a disaster. i am ashamed to say i barely ate any of it. i hate wasting food but i couldnt do it. My bf got roast and prime rib but it was watery and tasteless. dont know if it was even seasoned, and the dip that was next to it was oddly also tasteless for horseradish.
i went for plate two. i grabbed some bread and pizza. which as i said was delicious. i should have started and ended with just pizza.
Lastly i want to note that if your are going to do a buffet, Green Mill, put LABELS ON EVERYTHING!!! i couldnt eat some things bc i didnt know what it was, is that tatertot soup? I dont know. and i am ALLERGIC to things. so when i went for what i thought was spinach dip to go with the bread and it turned out to be fancy butter? i panicked and stopped eating it. becuase usually fancy butter has a few herbs and sweetners i CANNOT eat. LUCKILY i didnt ingest enough to do any major harm, just some tightening of my throat. its partly my fault because i should have asked first but had there been a LABEL i would have thought twice.
so if i ever go again (probably not) it will be on a regular day and im only...
Read moreI would not recommend Green Mill. They catered my wedding on August 5th. For food, the meal was mediocre. The beef kabob that we had tasted nothing like what we had at the tasting. It was so dry and under seasoned. Sure, I can forgive the dryness as a complication related to the keeping the food warm, but not an excuse for improperly seasoning. For service, the catering manager and the crew were pleasant people to work with and is the only reason I’m not giving them a one star. However, they absolutely under-delivered. We paid for a buffet and half of the guests were not made aware that they could return for seconds even though catering crew were the ones who approached me and asked if they could release people for seconds. The manager told me that they generally do not let people know they can return for seconds and this is an above and beyond service, but I guess it doesn’t matter because the majority of guest attest that they were not informed. Also, after the wedding, my sister who was there to help me with setup, told me the catering crew were crouching down pouring water into the goblets in crates on the floor. Manager originally claim that if crates were placed on the floor, the goblets aren’t literally touch the floor. After I informed her of the health code, she claims the goblets are put in a rack that is compliant with health code. I didn’t observe the setup, but my sister who also runs a sushi shop found their actions concerning. The crew left earlier than discussed and manager claims that the time on our contract was “flexible” which was not disclosure to me before signing the contract. We needed them there because they were providing the drinking water for our guests. Honestly, I did set my expectation relatively low and I’m still...

They also do catering as well. Along with some pretty tasty dessert options! I should mention it can be kid friendly as well. They do have a smaller kids menu option. They also have smaller booster high chairs and then just regular high chairs. My niece and nephew loved this place. The food is great no matter who you are! I will definitely be coming back here...
