Baba Chef — Restaurant in Lakewood

RIP OFF!!!! Food was not worth the price at all... There was no flavor more bread than filling and looks are definitely deceiving when it comes to this food. We ordered through Uber Eats and paid for priority so our food wouldn't be cold and because we don't live but a couple of miles from the restaurant we expected it to be hot but nope our food room temperature at best. The chips are a definite miss, which is probably why they were free, but honestly $50 for 2 phillies with fries and a chicken zinger with no fries isn't worth it especially, when there's barely any meat, veggies, fries, or condiments. And no fries didn't come with the sandwiches we had to buy them separately. SOOOOOO DISAPPOINTING!!!! We were so excited because this place had 5 stars and the photos of the food looked good but this place wasn't at all what the reviews said. When Baba Chef opened near our house, my wife and I were SO stoked. There aren’t a lot of good shawarma places near us, and lucky for us, a GREAT one opened. Whether you call in, walk up or order through one of the ghoulish delivery apps, food is speedy, it travels well if you don’t want to stick around, and it is FLAVORFUL.

The loaded fries, in particular, are a great treat. Get it with lamb or chicken, either way, you’re in for an explosion of flavors, spice and textures. It’s such an incredibly menu made in such a small space by one of the friendliest restaurateurs in the neighborhood.

He’s also open late, which is great if you’re looking for some next-level post-bar munchies. If you’ve never had shawarma, this is the place to start. My only fear is that if it’s your first time, it will such such a high standard that you won’t be able to eat lesser shawarma.

Newly settled in Lakewood, on my way home I decided to explore a few blocks beyond my normal route. I was exhausted and famished just hoping for anything but the typical fast food joint garbage — A hot tasty meal, and BAM Baba Chef food truck appeared just as I was going to give up. Not only was the welcome super genuine, it was warm like reuniting with an old friend. The menu was equally inviting and if I could've I’d have order a little of everything. I asked the owner / chef to simply surprise me. We exchanged gratitudes and when I got home Holy Sh** Batman!!! 🙌🏼 Lamb over Rice with sides was packing incredible flavor, texture and aroma to boot. No lie, this will be my Go-To PERIOD. Salem, made my night and I am so stoked to have a quality spot to support that actually delivers in every way.
