Kenilworth Tavern — Restaurant in Lakewood

I used to adore my Sundays at Kenilworth. The ambiance was inviting, the drinks were always excellent, and the staff made you feel right at home. Unfortunately, that all changed with the arrival of the new bartender on Sundays. Initially, I chalked it up to an off day, but it’s become clear that this isn’t just a temporary issue. The service has slowed down significantly, and the bartender comes across as uninterested and unfriendly. It’s really disappointing to witness a place I loved losing its welcoming atmosphere. I miss the good old days of enjoying a drink and engaging with the staff. I genuinely hope management considers either bringing back the previous bartender or providing some training for the new one. I ordered the Friday fish fry for my uncle and boyfriend for a pick up order. At time of order, I asked if I could pay over the phone, or if the spot preferred payment at pick up. I also asked if there was an additional information I could leave besides my name prior to pick up.

Unfortunately, when I went to pick up my order twenty minutes later, the bartender told me that my order was unfulfilled, ”because the kitchen had closed before I called to order.” She erroneously took the order not knowing the chef/cook had left and “didn’t have your number to call back and update you.”

Was very surprised it 10 minutes for the bar maid to ask what we wanted to drink 🍸 🙄 because she decided to tske care of her regulars were going to stay for food but felt uneasy to be there not welcomed at all. She didn't even say thank you. And I still left her a very generous tip I would most definitely come back to try food 😋 and rate it food food blog. let me know if you folks have any sites or...
