Spellbound — Local services in Lakewood

I met the owner of Spellbound at a Halloween flea market in Lakewood 2 years ago. As soon as we met, I loved her personality, and the items she was selling, so I knew I had to check out her shop. The first time I visited spellbound, I was amazed by its beauty. Seriously the prettiest, most whimsical shop I’ve EVER been into, with a wide range of vintage Halloween items, which is what I personally like to collect. As a customer of almost two years, each time I go into spellbound, I still have the same feelings I did when I visited for the first time. It’s always beautiful and I never know what I’m going to find, as the owner brings in new items frequently!

At my most recent visit I was looking to pick out some crystals, I’ve never owned any, and I felt very at ease with the owner. She is an expert, and explained everything with love and care! I’ve also gotten a tarot reading by her with two of my friends and we all had an amazing experience. She was very detailed, and what she told each of us resonated. She truly cares about her customers, and is so wonderful to have a conversation with! Spellbound is definitely a true reflection of the owner…beautiful and magical!

Every time I drive by, it’s closed. The hours listed on Google aren’t correct, so they say to check Instagram. I check IG and it was posted 4 hours ago that they open at 12:30pm. I drive 30 minutes, park and at 12:33, I watch two girls try to open the door…but they’re still closed. I went on IG to alert the shop that they are losing business because people have come and gone but their door is locked. I stop at the coffee shop next door and come back at 12:50 and it’s still locked but the lights are on and a person is clearly inside. I check IG and they changed the time to 1:30, but couldn’t take the time to respond to me. From what I see online the owner is the only person running this store and hours can vary from day to day because it’s more of a hobby. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I love leaving positive reviews, and rarely leave something negative, but I feel like I need to say something to save people the time, gas and mileage on their car - also think you can call to see if they’re there…think again because they don’t have a number listed. This is my absolute favorite small business. When I first stumbled in I was curious about all things mystical and moody. Julie, the owner, is one of the kindest souls I have ever met. She has taught me many things over the years and is always there to listen and chat. She has remarkable taste and always stocks the shop with both unique vintage items, as well as new witchy wares. She puts so much into this little shop and has become more than just the owner of my favorite shop.

She is always spending time sourcing, doing live sales on instagram, and working at the shop. She builds great relationships with her customers and is always kind.
