If you're craving authentic Korean flavors, this restaurant delivers a genuine experience that truly transports you to the heart of Korea. From the moment you step in, you know this place isn't catering to a typical Americanized palate. The menu is thoughtfully curated with traditional dishes that reflect the diversity and depth of Korean cuisine.
One of the standout features of my visit to Cho Dang Tofu was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and made to feel incredibly welcome. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, always ready to offer recommendations and answer questions about the menu. They really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and their knowledge of the dishes and ingredients was impressive.
What truly set the staff apart was their genuine enthusiasm for the food and the culture. They were eager to share the story behind some of the dishes, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. It was clear they take great pride in their work and are committed to providing excellent service. Every interaction was courteous and thoughtful, which really enhanced the overall experience.
It’s not often you come across such a well-coordinated and friendly team, and it made our visit to Cho Dang Tofu that much more memorable. The staff truly adds to the charm of the place, and I can't wait to return.
This is as close as you can get to eating in Korea without boarding a flight – a must-try for any Korean...
Read moreFor background, we went here with my Korean wife and in-laws. We were seated by 1:15pm, and then promptly ignored for the next 45 minutes. In the meantime, we saw the servers seat and take orders from other tables that arrived after us. They finally took our order after my mother-in-law stood up to get their attention. They seemed apologetic and said they would put a rush on our order. I wish they hadn’t cause they must’ve missed some ingredients - the soon dubu was bland even at the “spicy” levels. Mild tasted watered down. I was left wishing for a salt shaker at the table. To make matters worse, we were seated by the door and the door stop would fall down about every other time someone went through, leaving it propped open and allowing cold air in. We had to get up to close it 4 times, as it seemed the people going through the door were oblivious and the restaurant staff were as well. I can understand all of the above if they are busy, but in that case they need to either hire more staff or not seat as many tables. Obviously we won’t be back here again, but we hope to warn others from making a similar mistake. I was thinking to give this review an extra star if the food at least tasted good, but it fell well short. There was simply nothing redeemable about...
Read moreLimited parking. Table layout is poorly designed, crammed too close together where you can’t even pull your seat back to get out without bumping another table behind you, and with a table right next to the door outside where tons of foot traffic coming in and out to make pick up orders. Service is slow and leaves a lot to be desired. Got seated quickly but took 45 minutes before someone came to take our order with no apology for delay and serving a table that came after us (disorganized service). Server and hostess both intentionally ignored our glances when we signaled we were ready to order after patiently waiting for almost one hour. Did not bring us any place settings or waters and only gave us attention to scold us when we got up to get it ourselves after they served the side dishes and left without giving us any utensils. We can forgive poor service if they are busy but we expect the food to be decent. The soup they are known for was bland. Like drinking water boiled with the anchovy sachet and no seasoning. The cooks definitely forgot a few ingredients so I cannot recommend coming to this restaurant until they make major improvements to their work flow and recipe. Sad because I used to love this place but it’s not the...
