I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi Nawi in Lakewood, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is inviting and modern, creating a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, making sure every need is met promptly.

The sushi itself is absolutely top-notch. The fish is incredibly fresh, and the presentation is both artistic and appetizing. I highly recommend trying their signature rolls, especially the Dragon Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll—they are bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. The miso soup and tempura appetizers are also delightful and set the stage for the main course beautifully.

Overall, Sushi Nawi offers a dining experience that is both memorable and satisfying. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or new to the cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit for its quality, service,...

Show-stopping Chef Sam does it again!

I hadn't been to Sushi Niwa in ages. My busy life has only upped in the ante, but tonight, I decided to treat myself to some wonderful sushi.

The sashimi salad is GREAT! The slices were substantial and delicately draped over a bed of spring mix. And the fish was SO FRESH! I haven't had as fresh of fish anywhere else. The quality and very, very reasonable price can't be beat!

I also got the 6-piece nigiri plate. Honestly, at most places, the rice gets in the way, by this rice was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. It complemented the fish extremely well.

Lastly, although I didn't order it, I was given the sushi burger to try, an off menu chef special! By this time I was pretty full, but it was definitely worth it. Chef Sam is always being so creative with his dishes. One day I'm going to have to request their sushi...

My family came here today soley based on the reviews here...we were all highly disappointed. If you are looking for high quality sushi ie: Sapporo(Fife), Tokyo(Federal Way) or TheKOI(Tacoma) then do not go here. If you are looking for food court quality sushi, then this is your place. Fish was pale and mushy and had an odd flavor...not enough wasabi to kill the taste. The miso on the other hand was really good(which was the only thing that elevated this to 2stars) The low price wasn't worth it(it was so bad we didn't finish the rolls we got, and my husband's gag reflex was kicking in, which was a first that I've seen in the 7 years we've been together)...we wish we would have gone somewhere else...anywhere else...and paid the extra 2-5 dollars more per roll. Still boggles my mind how this got such a...

I used to go here a lot when I lived here 5 years ago, but just moved back and wanted to see if it was still okay after spending 5 years slaying sushi in Japan. It’s definitely American-style sushi, but it’s affordable and I’d rather go here x10000000 more than Trappers. Staff is always friendly and service is quick if you’re not going during the lunch rush - and even then it’s reasonable considering they’re rolling them fresh and to order. *i ate my food before I remembered to take a pic haha*

Regretful review, this is for those that remember Sushi-Niwa from a year ago and beyond. The previous owners have left, since then the quality has gone down across the board, fish portions have diminished, rice has been undercooked, service has declined. Could be growing pains or I’m just going have to accept that it will never be the Sushi-Niwa I used to love.

Their food was great, helpful staff for people who don't know much about sushi. The price was reasonable and their deals were great. The 2 hour wait they said was required for platters was a cool 35 minutes because they weren't busy when we went in. We even got a little shopping done in the little Asian market it is inside of.
