One Day Cafe — Restaurant in Lakewood

I’ve been to Oneday three times now. My first experience was good, but my second and third visits were quite off and uncomfortable. I didn’t appreciate how the staff acted toward me.

During my second visit, I felt overlooked by the staff—even though the interaction lasted maybe 15 seconds. You know when you order food and expect the staff to be polite and courteous? That wasn’t my experience.

My third visit was today, and I went with friends. My friend and I ordered the same drink, and we were both disappointed. The drink tasted overly strong—just like straight coffee—and we couldn’t taste the “banana split” flavor at all. Neither of us finished our drinks.

I tried to switch mine for another drink of equal value. One employee told me I could make the switch, but another at the register later told me I couldn’t. I explained to both that the coffee in the drink was too strong and the flavor wasn’t what I expected.

On top of that, I ordered a jelly-filled croissant and asked for it to be heated—it was still cold when I got it.

Never had an issue until this has happened now twice. An hour before closing (8:30) was told they were out of coffee and matcha, yet people inside seemed to have coffee drinks. This was my second time I've been told something like this, once on a weekend and today.

I understand people want to go home, but some days I can only come across town to enjoy what used to be one of my favorite places to get coffee later in the day. My only recommendation is to come earlier or have your fingers crossed the employee wants to be there.

If in the rare case they did ran out of coffee or matcha, twice, then inventory should be checked mid day. It is a popular place, so having the inventory necessary should be checked periodically.

One Day Cafe is a hidden gem! Their coffee is top-notch, offering a perfect pick-me-up. The refresher ades are a delightful twist, and the croffles are an absolute game-changer - a must-try! The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is incredibly friendly. This place has quickly become my go-to spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their coffee and dessert experience.
