El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lakewood

Disappointed in this place. It USE to be so good. Now the past few times we have been we’ve waited an incredibly long time to order and to get our food. Tonight they got my drink wrong 2x so I gave up asking for the right drink. Waited forever to order and then to get our food. My food came out wrong and waitress never came to check on us to see how the food was. Chicken was very dry. Never received part of my order. And at the end I asked for the rest of my order and they presented us with the check. Then it took them forever to come back and pick up the check. The rest of my order was never received. I gave up asking about my order.

Someone else came in after us, they got their order right away, they got checked on multiple times, drinks refilled multiple times, food came out for them very fast, waitress asked them if they needed anything else before getting the check and they left. They left before us!

I don’t know what happened with this place. It’s so sad as it was so good and so close to our home.

The most disappointing part was they weren’t busy at all!! But the amount of time we waited to order, and for our food and everything that went wrong made it seem like they were goofing off in the back or they were just...

This place has terrible service. I had to give my order to two different waitresses a total of 2 times each to get my steak fajitas and Diet Coke to the table. I would literally tell them what I wanted and they would come back 5 minutes later to ask what it is that I ordered. I ordered wasn't exactly complicated. The waitstaff here stand around talking to each other rather than serve the customers. They were plenty friendly when they did come to the table but had a complete laxidasical attitude about taking the order, bring the food, and taking the check. I came in to have a quick lunch and it ended up taking an hour and a half to get out the door.

Furthermore, my chips had some small piece of plastic baked into them. I don't know if they make their own ships or if they came from outside the restaurant, but when I brought it to the waitress's attention comma she didn't even apologize or offer to bring the issue to the attention of a manager. Instead she offered me more chips! As if I wanted to eat chips that have plastic baked into them.

The place was pretty much deserted in the middle of lunch. After eating at this place I can understand why. I will...

We live so close to this restaurant, that we keep coming back even when we have a negative experience. We love the food here, and our only complaints are regarding the atmosphere of the restaurant.

The food is tasty, and served in huge quantities. Order a burrito, and you're getting a delicious burrito that folks the dining plate. The staff is very friendly, and obviously knows their regulars very well. Which leads to the atmosphere problem.

This restaurant is very quiet. If there's music playing, it's so quiet you can barely hear it. Sometimes there's no music playing whatsoever. There's not really any noise dampening that you would expect if a restaurant was trying to achieve that intimate silence. Instead, you can hear every single word of the conversation beside you, as well as the whispered one across the room.

It's disconcerting and off-putting to hear every detail of everyone's conversations, and to realize that they can likewise hear yours.
