This complex deserves 0 stars. We initially signed a 12 month lease but only ended up living here for 8 months due to poor management and the maintenance team creating an unsafe environment. During 'routine maintenance' that the office said they informed us of, our front door was left wide open and one of our cats was let out. We did not receive a notice that they would be entering the apartment, actually no one in the building did. The door was left open for roughly 4 hours, during which time, anyone could have gone in or out of the apartment. Fortunately we found our cat (hiding under the dumpster on the opposite side of the complex) but our faith in the leasing office and the maintenance team was completely lost. They put us in a very uncomfortable situation and when I told them that our cat was missing and explained the situation to them, I was told 'what do you want me to do about it'. This group of people is incredibly lazy and they could care less what happens to you, your pets, your possessions etc, as long as they get paid. After a lot of pressure on the corporate team (Lincoln Management), we were able to get them to agree to let us out of our lease on July 2nd.
To make matters worse, the day that we turned in our keys, the management team changed without any warning. We were expecting to have a seamless transition while moving out but instead were informed that they did not have access to previous paperwork and could not confirm our move out date. As I am sure you can imagine, it's incredibly unnerving to already have another apartment leased and then be informed by your previous apartment complex that you owe another 2 months rent before you can turn in keys. I explained the situation to many different members of this team and yet no one seemed to care. Upon leaving I was informed that someone would reach out to me once they have located the paperwork.
I went into the leasing office 3 weeks after we moved out and was informed that they still had not processed the apartment or processed any of our move out paperwork. For this reason they were still charging us for the apartment. I explained to them that it's ridiculous to continue to charge us for a place when we turned the keys in weeks prior, however this didn't seem to resonate with anyone. I have called the leasing office countless times but not one time has the phone been answers or my calls been returned.
Almost 4 weeks later, we still have not heard from the leasing office. No confirmation as to whether they will be returning the additional $700 that they owe us from the extra rent and deposit.
This is literally the worst place to live - it's not worth the hassle that they will cause you and the money you will waste paying for an apartment that has paint peeling off the walls and carpet that smells like dog piss. Living in Belmar is great, just be sure to pick a different complex because this one has too many issues...
Read moreâI had a terrible experience with these apartments. Initially, the staff was friendly, but as we continued to discuss my situation, things took a turn for the worse. The manager ended up yelling at me, interrupting me constantly while I was trying to explain my situation, being rude and disrespectful.
They made my life difficult by asking for an endless list of requirements, and despite following their instructions to the letter, they kept asking for more. Every time I requested something, they would just give me another excuse. At one point, I even asked if they simply didnât want to proceed, to please let me know instead of wasting my time.
They charged me $220 and now refuse to refund my money, claiming that I was approved under certain conditions. However, they misled me throughout the process, stating that only two items were needed, but as I provided more, they kept demanding additional things. This was nothing but a waste of my time and money, and I plan to report them because no one should have to endure the treatment I received.
I usually donât write reviews unless the service is either extremely good or extremely bad. Personally, I always try to leave positive reviews, even if things are not perfect, because none of us are perfect. But that doesnât excuse mistreating customers. If I could give them zero stars, I would!â

Dear One Belmar Place Management Team,
Thank you for your response, but I must clarify that my experience has not been as you described. The leasing process has not been smooth or transparent. Initially, I was assured that the information I provided would be sufficient, yet I faced increasing demands for additional documentation, which has caused significant frustration.
It feels like the intention to assist applicants is lacking, and instead of creating a relaxing environment, the process has been filled with unnecessary complications and disrespectful interactions.
I understand that you want to improve, and I hope that addressing the customer service issues, particularly regarding the manager's attitude, will benefit both your team and future residents.
As I mentioned in my review, I believe a refund of my money is warranted, as this experience has not met the professional standards I expected.
Thank you for your attention to this...
Read moreIf it was possible to give One Belmar Place ZERO stars we would have. My wife and I needed a place to stay while we were having a home built in Lakewood, and we chose this based on convenience and proximity to work and Belmar. WISH WE WOULDN'T HAVE!! We ended up staying there for 15 months in total. It was HELL ON EARTH. From the very beginning we had issues...upon move-in the apartment wasn't even ready or clean. Paint splatter on the floor, wobbly ceiling fans, cabinets without pulls, dozens of nails/screws in the garage. It actually costed us more with our movers because we had to wait for them to fix it and clean it before we could finish moving in.
The fun didn't stop there. We had to call maintenance for issues again and again. You name it, it went wrong. Heat, A/C, broken dishwasher, washer & dryer that ruined our clothes, water leaks, the list goes on and on. We even had conversations with the maintenance staff and they agreed One Belmar has major issues.
Lastly, when it came time to move out, were were conveniently and erroneously charged for items so they didn't have to pay our deposit back. Although they advertised a $99 "EZ Clean" program where you can leave the apartment dirty and they will clean it for you, they still found a way to charge extra for things like trash removal (at $25/bag which ended up being $200 for us)...I would think this would be part of the cleaning process but apparently they think differently. Oh, and they won't tell you what's included and not included in that program, hence why we got charged for drip pans, trash removal, carpet cleaning, etc...if we would have know we would have done this ourself. It's as if they want to lure people in with the $99, wait for them to move and be gone, then SURPRISE! we found 'extras'! They are now threatening to send me to collections for $107...thanks to those wonderful add-ons!
In summary, DON'T MOVE HERE PLEASE!!! Please DM me at @steveharp on Twitter to comment or ask questions. I'd be happy to share more about our horrible experience at this poorly...
