I bought a Kenwood DMX 4707 s that stop booting up on May 14th I mailed out this head unit and send it to their repair facility in Syracuse New York. While they had it I had to place several calls to try to get informed as to what the status is of the radio come to find out they mailed the head unit over to JVC Kenwood in California they receive this June 2nd it's been a month-and-a-half I'm trying to track down what's happening with the radio I've called their customer service and got no resolution I was giving their phone number for FPS only to call them and get hung up on because I didn't have the serial number and I asked them to use my phone number or tracking number to locate this radio so after getting hung up on. I called back to the customer service let them know I spoke with Mike the day before and that I was supposed to get a call back from a supervisor which didn't happen I spoke to another supervisor to which I was told they needed to send an email to corporate that they could not call them, give me the email address, or a phone number to call corporate myself to try to get this resolved. I have a Jeep event which is what the radio went into this Saturday I asked them to make sure that it was Back to Me before Saturday or Saturday morning because the Jeep event starts at 2 p.m. they would not do anything any further than just emailing their corporate asking either for a refund or that I requested them to overnight a head unit to me and they should be more than understanding to because they've had to head unit for almost 2 months. The part that I don't understand is it was sent to the repair facility why is it before they send out a head unit to me they have to wait for their repair facility to send it over to California and for me to wait four days at least 4 days before they send out a head unit to me as a replacement I don't understand why it's taking this long just to get a radio repaired or radio replaced it's not that difficult this is been a horrible experience and I will never buy or touch another JVC or Kenwood and I will make sure that none of my friends by a JVC or Kenwood for as long as I live if I see them with one in their hand I'm going to smack it out of the damn hand. I would suggest you to buy a different brand something more stable like a Sony or Clarion they're truly not worth the headache or the hassle of dealing with them ever again
update So follow up to the great JVC Kenwood Saga. So they called last week to give me a tracking number. This tracking number says that the radio went out on 5/26 and was delivered on 6/02 at 10 a.m. in Clearwater. Now my address is not in Clearwater I looked again and it was sent back to the shipper 06/07 from Clearwater.
I called customer service and received a call back from the supervisor that was looking into it and they don't know what happened. But they're going to send me out yet another unit. So I asked them if I could get it overnighted because of all the trouble. I was told that they are unable to overnight me a unit that it had to be sent out via regular UPS shipment again.
So it looks like I'll be waiting another week to see if I finally get my car radio back or if they have yet another...
Read moreTheir radios are terrible and their customer service is even worse. I purchased a marine radio from them for my boat. This radio was installed in a sealed compartment on my boat and was never exposed to water. 6 months later is so corroded it won’t even turn on. I send it in for warranty, they say the main boards are corroded and it’s not covered under warranty. I call Kenwood and speak to customer service. I ask him the difference between a car radio and marine radio. He says they put a corrosion resistant coating on the electrical boards. So they coat the electrical boards with a corrosion resistant coating but they don’t warranty it for corrosion? He laughs and says he understands completely and he will escalate my claim. A couple days later a lovely woman by the name of Angel calls me. Leaves a voicemail telling me to call her back about my radio. Doesn’t leave a extension. I call the number back and it asks for an extension. If you don’t know it, it hangs up on you. I call customer service and they schedule me a phone appointment with lovely Ms. Angel the following day at 430. 445 rolls around the next day and no phone call. I call customer service and they transfer me to her. She begins to tell me that my radio was exposed to a high level of water and that’s the only way this could have happened. I explain to her about 100 times that it was not exposed to water and she proceeds to keep blaming the corrosion on me instead of admitting that her “corrosion resistant” coating didn’t do its job. The whole point of buying a marine radio is that it’s supposed to withstand conditions such as boating. They’re radios are junk and they don’t stand behind them. The customer service was the worst I’ve ever received. Bad enough to make me write this review, which I never do. DO NOT BUY A KENWOOD RADIO. THEY DONT LAST AND THEY WONT STAND...
Read moreI would have never thought KENWOOD would treat there customers like they do. There car radios are so cheap moisture in the air will ruin the radio. You have to send it in to there so called rip off service in Virginia where it is a scam. You send it in for waarenty work they claim you spilled or did something to the radio you pay out of pocket to get it fixed. They send it back to you broken. Then I called corporate to let them know what happened they don’t care and tell you to file a claim with UPS. UPS puts a claim in and picks up the radio to be fixed for the same issue plus more. It arrives yet again broken. Same thing happens have to file with UPS to be fixed yet again. They have to replace the screen and buttons for the third time. They have UPS figured out and get paid three times over before they ,ay have fixed it. I called UPS to let them know of there scam they are doing. I called my credit card and did a chargeback. If that does not work I am taking both to small...
