Usually this is one of my all time favorite restaurants. This time however, not so much. The girl taking my order at the drive thru stopped in the middle of it to talk to a fellow employee.....and I sat and waited for her to return....and waited....and waited. Finally I called out hello....and she answered hi. I asked if we could continue. Then I waited another 20 min to get to the window...and as I did I could hear the man in front of me complaining about the time it took to get his food. I get to the window where I spent 35.00 for myself and one other only to wait some more. I thought well at least it b will be fresh and hot. Finally get my food and head home...should have checked it first. Get to my house not even a mile away and low and behold.....fries are cold. Not just cool....but cold. There were only 2 tarter sauce for 10 pieces of Luke warm (AT BEST) fish. No cocktail sauce, 2 ketchup, none of the lemon or crackers that I had requested, a couple of napkins and let's not forget the 2 wonderful warm dry coleslaw. Now I can deal with the fact that the fish pieces are 1/2 the size they used to be...and I can deal with the fact that you don't get a drink when spending 27$ on a menu item...but the poor quality, combined with lacking quanity, temperature of the food, plus having to call attention that i was still ordering and the having to wait all that time just to be disappointed..... that i won't accept. I'm so sad to say that I probably won't be going...
Read moreSERIOUSLY?? We ordered a full boat for three people and first of all the first thing we noticed were the fries looked like they were not even cooked floppy no brown whatsoever just gross. We didn’t even eat them. Then the 10 piece cod should be labeled as 10 fried cod fingers. Tiny and it was horrible. We ordered a separate clam strips with no fries. They were horrible off flavor and we love clam strips and never have we ever complained about a clam strip or fried fish! I went to the Ivers on the water in Seattle and was very impressed. That was about 15 years ago Then I went to one independent Ivers I think up near Renton or so about five years ago and it was good and then I went to this one and everything was horrible. The chowder was OK and the coleslaw was OK but everything else was inedible. In fact it’s in a big bag sitting next to me. I want to call to see if I can get a partial refund. And all of this was $58.16 and that comes to $20 a person roughly and it should be maybe eight or nine dollars per person if it was good food! I’m blown away we were excited to eat at Ivers again but...
Read moreIvar's is one of my favorite brands from top to bottom. Everything is quality. Their chowder is what all others are compared to in the north west and the fish and chips is too good. I worked at Acres of Clans for a short time when I was young. I regretted quitting because the other job I chose over them ultimately did not care for their employees nearly as well as ivar's does. When Ivar Hagland died I heard he gave his most loyal 30 employees 1 million dollars each. In the 80s that was a lot of money and not one of them took the money and quit. Iner, the Chef at Acres was like 85 when I worked there and had been working for Ivar for 50 years or more. Many of the people at the fish shacks , I remember from when I was a kid. That tells you a lot about a place. Not only is it a living but it's a labor of love for them. They have some of the most genuine customer service I have ever seen. They are appreciative of your patronage and happy to see you. I...
