Me-n-Ed's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Lakewood

We were on the search for a different and good place to get pizza. We had not been to Me n Ed's before and thought we would give it a try. The food was good, we did like what we ordered. We ordered the roasted cheese garlic toast, the extra large classic combo pizza and two personal pizzas and and salad for take out. I phoned in the order and drove in to pick it up. The Service was horrible! When I entered Me n Ed's, a gentleman that was eating inside was walking up to the counter and I got behind him in line. There were three workers standing at the counter where they make the pizzas talking and laughing. We stood directly across and not more than a couple of feet from where they were talking. They could all 3 see the gentleman waiting and all 3nsaw me enter the restaurant. After several minutes of waiting, 4th worker came out carrying something and he called out a girls' name to come and help. That was the girl talking at the counter, she laughed and yelled out a boy's name to come and help, which was the boy who was working and who had originally called to her for help. The boy put down what he was doing and came to the counter and helped the gentleman and then helped me. We had to move to the counter where the 3 were talking to get my order. I felt bad for this kid, he was the only one working. He got my order, was getting my money for my order and trying to take an order over the phone while the three were all still talking. The frustrating thing was, when we got home with our order, we realized the salad had been left out and it was too far to go back to go get it once we were home. Haven't been to a Me-n-Ed's since I was in my early 20's (25 years-approx.). I actually thought they all had gone out of business years ago. In 2016, I moved to the Long Beach area where, one day, I stumbled on the Me-n-Ed's on Lakewood Blvd. but, it still too me several years to decide to definitely try it again, which I regret. All the years that went by before eating there again, is definitely regretful. Using the corp. website, I discovered that the Lakewood pizzeria has it's own web page. There, I placed an order for delivery. I was ecstatic to find that they have REAL Canadian Bacon (hard to find these days). I was also impressed at how the detail of the food on the web page told you EXACTLY what to expect with your order. They offer 8", 10", 12", 14" & 16" pizza sizes. Be sure to review their specials which are very reasonably priced. I also discovered that the Lakewood Me-n-Ed's does NOT charge for delivery. That's right, delivery is FREE! The order was delivered on time, exactly as ordered. It was hot & delicious. I was impressed. Me-n-Ed's is better than I originally remembered. Ordered based off of someone's recommendation for us to try being our last night in town on vacation. Upon arrival back at our hotel my wife began opening everything to start eating. We ordered 2 garlic breads, one with cheese and one without, both had cheese. My wife ordered a tossed salad (even asked the lady on the phone what came on it) and she received a Caesar salad instead. When calling back to inform them our order was wrong (at 8:25) we were told they were closed, online states they're opened until 9pm... The lady who answered the phone was adament about giving us a credit for the following day, explained numerous times tonight was our last night in town and that wouldn't be possible. I really just wanted the salad and garlic bread(with no cheese) remade for my wife, since that was her entire meal... They insisted they were closed and could not do anything about it. We went back and forth for another few minutes until she decided she would take it off our credit card and just charge us for the pizzas. I havent seen a change in price yet but I'm hopeful they'll honor their word.
