El Toreo L10 — Restaurant in Lancaster

This food is average at best. This is not authentic Mexican food it's Americanized Mexican food which is not a bad thing if you like that. The food portions are big but the taste is not good. The sauce and salsa taste like it's out of a can. The meat in the chimichanga and flautas have been bolied to the point where it has become mush. And its the same meat in all the dishes. The rice and beans are like every cheap Mexican restaurant. There is nothing outstanding about this place. It's not very clean the prices are high but the quality is low. If you want authentic Mexican food this is not it. If you think this is authentic Mexican food you've never tasted real Mexican food. Try Puerto Nuevo on Palmdale Blvd they are much closer to real Mexican food than this place.

This place is great! Situated in a little strip mall, this little Mexican restaurant is worth trying. It's not very big, but make no mistake, it's not a fast food place, it's a sit down restaurant. It has very cool decor, clean and well kept. The food was delicious. Everyone in my party was super happy with their food. I ordered the fajitas... Delicious! Other parts were; carne asada plates - delicious! Came with two pretty good size steaks, chicken mole enchilada - delicious! The taquito plate and the fish plate, also delicious. It should also be noted that their portion size is really good. We all ended up taking some food home. Oh, big shout out to our server (wish I had gotten his name... Sorry) he was very attentive. He took the time to explain what the dishes came with, and what I really really appreciated was that he asked if any of the kids' orders needed to be modified because he knew sometimes kids don't like everything the plate comes with. This was perfect as my kids are a little picky. So big...

Twice this week I've had a bad experience with waiter Alex. My first experience I arrived at 1:50 pm. There is a sign on the door stating carry out only starting at 2:00pm. When. I walked in the door he stated "I'm sorry miss carry out only " I pointed to the clock stating 1:50 and he replied oh well so I left. Then on Friday I arrived at 1:30 pm. He said it was a 30 minute wait and there were four empty tables. So we sat down to wait, I asked for a menu while I waited, he handed me the red dinner menu and I asked to see the white lunch menu which he replied that by the time I got seated it would be the dinner menu. So I left, I went to the one on 40th west and L and had lunch. I was told there menu's don't change until 4:00 pm. Only their lunch specials end at 2:00. Avenue L is obviously trying to over charge by switching the menus two...
