I have a peanut allergy. I usually order the Kung Pap, no spicy, no peanut. I arrive home with my tightly tied meal sack. when opening the meal lid the food was loaded with LARGE peanuts. I called the location to let them know my order was wrong thinking they can remake and I can retrieve it. The drive thru window girl answered the phone and I told her I just came in your drive -thru and my ordered I placed has peanuts, she said hold on, .....I have your order it said no but, no spicy. I said ma'am I'm looking at these peanuts. she yelled " if you don't want it! Bring it back". Her tone alone fired me up, no apology, very rude and I'm the paying customer. I loaded me and my 6 month old G-baby back into the car this time I went into the establishment. I was angry, I slid the tightly close meal to the cashier while still holding the baby car seat, explaining my experience to him. Hes talking in Spanish to his co-workers, then tells them to prepare another. he's rude too , no apology on my second trip. I said give me my money back! loudly still no apology from this food place. Male cashier inside said "YOU want me to throw your money back to you!!!!!! At that time I got even louder and said yeah you do it! the window chick yelling you should have check yo food. I told her I am paying customer and you should know how to service a customer. it was a damn shouting match instantly, that young girl continued talking while I'm holding a car seat and baby. its Superbowl Sunday, I can't be going to jail with my G-baby. I left after getting my refund and won't ever return to this food place ever ever ever, they won't be getting...
Read moreI will never come here again. Very rude to a loyal customer spending $30/day and sometimes wayyyy more! I was ordering here almost every day for lunch. I like the fresh broccoli and tofu. They charge me extra (over $14 for a $7 meal) for tofu even though I get NO MEAT which they say meat can be included for same price. They don't get my order right after repeating several times. Give me like 4 or 5 pieces of small tofu at almost two times the price of the whole entree. Also one time I paid extra for broccoli and they did not include it. I always say no carrots but there's usually some portion of carrots. When I inquired this day why price was so much higher with no meat the manager told me very rudely that's your fault you have to pay more. I was just inquiring. Due to his rudeness on not 1 but 2 orders made WRONG at that moment and I was being very nice/understanding about them remaking it because supposedly the guy hears my order wrong. I canceled the entire order!! Don't make me nothing and think you gone get my money with that attitude!! I hope people stop patronizing rude service in our neighborhoods. It's unfortunate it's the only healthy spot here. I wish more restaurants would come in this area. Also if there is a up charge it needs to be posted because no where is it posted that tofu is $$$ I'm not sure if he was the manager but I believe he is....
Read moreUpdate: I have to lower my review to 1 star.
I ordered Mongolian beef, fried dumplings and a coke. I was given a price. I get to the window no drink. I asked for my drink and was told it would be extra. I looked at my receipt and no itemized receipt.
So I said never mind. Then I get to work and no fried dumplings. The Mongolian beef and rice tasted terrible.
I won't go back. This stuff taste bad. I doubt they will give me my money back so I'll just trash it and call it a lesson learned.
The General Tso's chicken was good. It was not too sweet like a lot of other places. It was fried well and had a good taste and texture to it. The egg roles were typical chain restaurant and the fried rice was ok. One good thing about the rice was it had onions. However that was all it had. Fried rice varies from place to place. Some has eggs and vegetables or some kind. I cannot say that Wok Express stood far out from other chains but it was better than a lot of them.
Why only 3 stars you ask? It is because I eat at a lot or restaurants and this cannot compare to family owned authentic restaurants. That said it is slightly better than most chains. Also General Tao's chicken is an American dish and not Chinese as Chinese do not bread their meats.
You cannot go wrong by going here and I plan to go back...
