BEWARE!!!!! My daughter was married last year and decided to have an anniversary party this year since she didn't have a reception when she got married. I got a bad feeling from the moment we sat down for the testing. However, this place was one of 4 caterers that was allowed by the event space and since the other caterers were not available for her date, this was her last resort and her time for finding a caterer was running out and he said he was available.
The $75 per person with a minimum of 100 people would include one salad, one pasta and either a chicken or fish dish as her menu and dinnerware and service. Deserts would not be included.
My daughter accepted as she was getting stressed and casually mentioned she was so happy he could accommodate her since the other caterers were busy. After she made her deposit, he tacked on a 30% surcharge saying it was for taxes and gratuity. He then proceeded to tell her he would work with her if she decided to just do pasta and no chicken and use plastic cups for the bar ( she provided her own alcohol) and plates for the cake. If I would have known, I would have never let her agree to this!
So for $75 per person she got a salad, a dinner roll, cheese pasta, tea, coffee, tap water and the dinnerware and service. To say we were livid is in understatement! Just beware! He took advantage of...
Read moreThis place checks off all the marks. Cozy and classy (white tablecloth, wine glasses type of thing). Adequate parking check! One waitress took care of the entire restaurant at what only could be described as "super woman." We were never for want, Deb was knowledgeable and welcoming. You could tell that her exceptional service was something she did WELL for years. I also suspect that the chef was passionate about his work (a slew of specials on top of a full menu). The food was perfectly proportioned and delicious! If that wasn't enough, the selection of desserts were amazing. I had the Tiramisu (one of the desserts made in-house). We may have to go back on a Fri or Sat evening the next time when they have (piano) entertainment. I could go on but I'll end with this. If you want a secret, hideaway-type place with convenient parking, high-end look and service but relaxed atmosphere with budget-friendly yummy Italian food and over the top desserts, it's...
Read moreTook my girlfriend here for our 5 year anniversary dinner. Was surprised to see it completely empty, but the place looked nice and I had read the reviews saying the food was good and just assumed it was a slow night.
The food was possibly the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. It tasted like it had been sitting in the freezer uncovered for months. Both sets of pasta had clearly been cooked in the same pot, as both of our dishes had some of the opposite's pasta in it.
If it was busy, this might be understandable, but we were the only people there for the duration of our meal. The pasta and sauce were both flavorless, I could only finish half before giving up and did not take the rest home with me.
Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from. Certainly will not be returning.
Picture of the empty restaurant attached since it's the only picture I took. Just thought it was interesting at the time, but after my meal it was...
