We’ve tried this place 3 times now. First time sat at bar, ordered a couple of decent drinks and food to go. Food wasn't exactly as described and one item missing when we got home. They were fairly recently opened so decide it was due to that & busy. Second time we got a seat pretty quick on Friday night. Thought msu hockey game would be on but they don’t have all the streaming options - even for a big, big ten game. Ordered the Opa appetizer, one pizza and a bowl for dinner. After about a half hour waiting for a cheese appetizer, our waitress stops by just to say, it’s been a long time. About 10 mins later she says, wow so t what’s going on. No histle, no going to check on it. Then one hour later a dif waitress brings out a sad, precooked ultra thin slice of Opa, lights it then gives a few pieces of fry pita. Immediately behind her is someone trying to bring out dinner. When they literally just sat down the app. So they put dinner under heat lamps while we had the tiny dry Opa. Then out comes the WRONG pizza and bowl dinner. Waitress says “oh you didn’t order that did you? Do you want what you ordered?” Spouses meal then sat under heat lamp again while they made correct pizza. Finally when it was delivered, it’s fine. I’d say Buddys, Klavons and Jets are all better. A manger went by the table and said, “I heard you had a bad time w a pizza” That was it. Nothing more. Third and final time here. Sat at bar. Rude female bartender. Never smiled at anyone. Heard her talking to one guy at bar saying she has to work w all these 20-somethings but she’s in her 30s w kids. Odd. Ordered the chick parm sandwich and chicken tacos. Dinner arrives and once again, 50% of the order is wrong. Only two food orders! She said “oh, that’s not the sandwich you ordered is it?” Once again, one dinner went to go sit under heat lamps while they made the other. Finally the food comes out. About two bites into the chicken tacos, spouse bites into something weird. He pulls out some piece of plastic that looks like it has blood on it or something. Like plastic packaging from meat. See pic. Showed it to unfriendly bartender saying “this is pretty gross”. And her response was snippily “well accidents happen” Literally no apology or understanding. Unbelievable. This place has been a fail 3 times in a row and we have no...
Read moreI must start this review by saying this was our second time eating at Art & Jake’s. Our first experience was phenomenal—and this one was just as amazing! Let me tell you all about it.
The cute girl and I absolutely loved our big booth seats with a nice window view. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a restaurant with more TVs. We loved the architecture and design of the building, along with how spacious it felt.
We started with two alcoholic drinks that were deliciously made. I got the Jake’s Cooler, and the cutie got the Tito’s Tropical. Next time we go—and there will definitely be a next time—we plan to try some of the other drink options!
Now, seeing as I’m a certified burger boy, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Truffle Burger with fries and ranch. The sweet girl got the El Paso Steak Wrap with rocket fries. I must admit, I messed up—I didn’t get the rocket fries, and I regret it, because I tried one of hers and my goodness... they are heavenly, my friends. HEAVENLY! Take a look at those incredible plates in the pictures below!
My burger was big and juicy, topped with mushrooms and caramelized onions, and finished with a roasted garlic truffle aioli. I was on burger cloud nine. It was like the apotheosis of mushroom Swiss burgers!
Cutie loved the incredibly tender and superbly seasoned meat in her wrap. The cheesiness was just right, and the wrap itself was soft with a perfect crisp crunch. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the chipotle mayo sauce added just the right kick without being overly spicy. She said it might be the best wrap she’s ever had—and she’s a wrap enthusiast!
I can’t stress this enough: the menu they have offers more tantalizing options than I’ve ever seen. I feel like I could come here ten or more times, try something different each trip, and love every experience.
In conclusion, thank you to the good people of Art & Jake’s for a perfect lunch for the cutie and me. We’ll definitely be back for more deliciously good times. We...
Read moreI am incredibly ill and would suggest proceeding with caution eating here. We ate here for the third time yesterday. It was my first and only meal of the day. We were celebrating my birthday so I selected something different from my general preferences. I chose the wild mushroom burger, fries and house salad with raspberry vinagarette dressing. I lay here in incredible abdominal pain, nausea and severe diarrhea. My husband reached out to the manager who was very limited in his response he said thank you for letting me know. I have no confidence that they are following up to look at their food safety protocols or checking their food currently to be sure it’s being held at proper temperatures and safe for their guests. I have no confidence because the manager did not say that he would handle this accordingly. This is so very disappointing. We loved it here, the menu is different from other eateries that are sports bars and the service is good, however, the quickest way for me to not return to a restaurant is to get ill and loose confidence that anything will be done to prevent a reoccurrence. We do our part as customers, we are kind and respectful to our host and we are very generous tippers. We expect the restaraunt to do their part, provide quality food and in the event of an issue a basic courtesy is kindness, empathy and agreement to follow up to prevent any reoccurrences to any other guests. This did not happen, not even close. With that being said we...
