Bravos is a restaurant that my husband and I go to for special occasions. We had such a special occasion on August 12, 2020. It was our 48th wedding anniversary. I ordered online two hours ahead of needed pick up time. When we got to the restaurant for curbside pick up, we had to wait 15 minutes before we got our food delivered to the car. And that was after we called the restaurant to inquire about our order. Then it was onto a beautiful park to eat our anniversary dinner. We arrived at the park, I pull out the linen tablecloth and put it on the table, pulled out the wine glasses and little bottles of wine from the cooler and then reached for our Bravos takeout. We realized we had no utensils with which to eat our dinners! It is important for me to mention that I called the restaurant right after I placed my online order and told them that I needed to make sure that they would be packing utensils to eat the food because we were taking our food to a park. If that is something they didn’t provide, I would have brought them from home. But here we were, in the Park with our food and no way to eat it. It’s a beautiful and perfect day to be having an anniversary picnic in a park and we basically had to pack everything up and drive home and eat at the same table that we have been eating at three times a day seven days a week since isolation started in March. We were also going to do some hiking in the park after dinner. That couldn’t happen either because we had to eat back at our house. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. By the time we actually got to eat our dinners the food had been riding around in our car for an hour. It wasn’t hot but I must say our dinners were absolutely delicious! I called the restaurant after we finished our dinner and talked to the restaurant manager. I explained how I had planned every detail of our perfect anniversary dinner in the park and of course chose Bravos as the restaurant for the food. Then I told her we arrived at the park only to find we had not been provided utensils to eat our meals. I made it clear to her how very disappointed we were with how our evening turned out. She assured me that she would pass this information on to the general manager the next morning and that person would give me a call. 3 days have gone by and I have heard nothing from this restaurant. I feel very unimportant and that our disappointment...
Read moreMy husband and I ate at the Lansing Bravo over the weekend because we received gift cards for Christmas. Neither of us had been to a Bravo in a good few years.
I'd like to start off saying our server, Serena, was top notch. She was attentive enough without being obtrusive or pushy. She was excellent. If this rating was just on her it would be 5 stars easily.
For the food, it honestly lacked in every way. We had calamari and the pecorino cheese plate as appetizers. The cheese plate was overall good but the calamari had the taste and texture of rubber, it was incredibly over cooked. Then we split a caesar salad and the lobster bisque. I'd put the lobster bisque in the good category, nothing to write home about. The caesar salad was awful. Everything seemed low grade ingredients and even some of the lettuce had turned bad.
For entrees we got the "cheese and pepper" pasta off their family traditional receipe menu and the grilled shrimp with orzo and veggies. The shrimp and orzo was by far the star of the meal. I could have eaten and entire bowl of just the orzo and veg it was so good. The shrimp was very well cooked and seasoned. The cheese and pepper pasta tasted like something made from a box. The pasta was very overdone and everything tasted old and stale. Very disappointing for a restaurant that is based around pasta having the worst pasta we've experienced.
For dessert we split the cheesecake which was very, very good. Definitely a highlight along with the shrimp.
Overall, get your kitchen up to par with your front of house. Then you'll have even happier customers which means returning business and better word of mouth for...
Read moreI visited your Lansing, Michigan location on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. I was served a salad with brown lettuce and it was visibly expired lettuce. I asked for the manager, at approximately 7:20 PM. The manager, Chef Jon, told our server that he was too busy to come out, but that he will be over shortly. By 8:11 PM I had asked the server three times to contact the manager as well as the main hostess and he refused to come out from the back of the restaurant area. I informed our server that we would wait for our bill until he came over to the table. She informed him of this, and he told her to tell us the bill was on him and he refused yet again to come out to talk with me at the table regarding the visibly expired lettuce, as I was hoping to share quality control concerns from the kitchen. The entire staff was aware and we even asked other employees to ask the manager to step out and speak with us, but yet he was not willing to come out and speak with me and my party. I have never received such poor service from any restaurant experience, especially when it comes to leadership. I am very disappointed with this experience as we are in town visiting for work, and this was supposed to be our celebratory dinner for the hard work we've done. I would like a regional manager to contact me. We had to contact another restaurant in the chain to get contact information due to the lack of communication at the Lansing location. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau about my experience...
