I have lived in Lansing for 12 years now. Almost daily I drive by this restaurant. Today is the first day that I have decided to give it a try. Nothing against it it’s just a busy stretch the street and I’ve always wanted to stop and just never have. Upon walking into the restaurant it was clean and well organized and well lit. The wait staff were all friendly and I was seated very quickly. My waitress was nice and friendly took my order and got me my food very quickly and was very attentive. I ordered a club sandwich, fries, and a bowl of chili. These are typically my go to when I try a new restaurant . As they make it easy for me to judge the quality of the restaurants food. The club sandwich was excellent they had shaved turkey what you don’t typically find in a club sandwich. The chili had a lot of flavor and wasn’t too spicy. Over all the food was excellent. The service from my waitress was excellent. But the real reason I wanted to post this was the lady who is waiting on other people along with my waitress. Now I’m not taking away from what my waitress did she was excellent. But another lady that was walking around was very bubbly was laughing and talking with everyone throughout the restaurant and was getting her guests to laugh with her what excellent service. I work in another type of service industry and I know good service when I see at this restaurant has very good wait staff and that makes all...
Read moreWent with my fiance. It felt like I was stepping into my grandmother's house again. It felt very nostalgic, warm, and welcoming. Service was, to say the least, superb. Our server was training a new server, but they both stayed on top of the tables and were very sweet, kind, and accommodating. As for the food; it is what you expect when you go to a diner, but I found something that I don't typically find at restaurants and diners: Food made with love. There's a certain feel to a dish when there's genuine effort put into it. Even though the presentation may appear simple, there's a balance within the food itself that really pulls the whole thing together.
Overall: I give this diner a 5/5 because while I may be a harsh critic and often don't give 5/5 stars, I have a soft spot for family owned businesses that put love and effort into their product. Especially the rare gems that remind one of home. This diner reminded me that character is beneath the surface.
If you go (and I hope you do), I advise that you don't just look at everything with face value and instead, feel what this diner has to...
Read moreThe food was disgusting. It lacked flavor and taste. The presentation of it was tacky. Only thing that made this whole experience tolerable was the wonderful service that we received from Sarah. (I hope I got the waitresses name, right.)Sarah was awesome. I hope she finds different employment at a restaurant that has better food the restaurant itself was tacky old rundown looking, I do not know why anyone goes here to eat my seven year old niece could have done better than what was presented for me to eat. I will never go here again. This was my first and last time. Thanks but no thanks I rated this place with one star, but they did not even deserve that they are far far past deserving of any stars , they rate as a zero in my book…. I’m really not a fan of McDonald’s or Burger King either and I’d rather have eaten their breakfast than what I...
