Arcadia Smokehouse — Restaurant in Lansing

I really wanted to give this a four star review. This place just messed up too many times. The location was fine. The environment was cool. The prices were too high for the quality. The biggest mess-up was the deceptive beer pricing and sizing. This place has no business having the name "Arcadia" on it. The in-house beer is not great... just decent. It was not exceptional (like anything with Arcadia's name on it). The flagship Arcadia brews (from the original brewery) are EXPENSIVE. They are about $6 for a SMALL pour (same as the other "guest" taps). We asked our server how big and expensive the ACTUAL Arcadia beers were, and she (an under-age child) quipped nonchalantly "$5.95 for a pint". What we got was CLEARLY not a pint. We happened to have ordered a kid's water that came in a 12 oz. cup. We dumped out the water and poured in our freshly poured Arcadia Nitro stout (which was poured short to begin with). The beer came up to 12 oz. exactly. that is FOUR oz. short. We were shorted one quarter of the beer. We wondered if we would be refunded one fourth of our money back when we pointed it out to our server. She acted like we were crazy - clearly a real "Karen". She told me should would bring in her bartender. I said "go right ahead" (knowing he could lose his license for lying on such a thing). Big surprise... no bartender. What we got was a sorry excuse and no apology, and only one small 4 oz. sampler to make up for it (we ordered three "pints", but only got three 12-oz. pours). The bottom line is, the food is pretty good, but not worth the same price as Meat Southern BBQ or LBC. The beer is expensive and deceptively short on the pour. The waitstaff is not accepting of their mistakes and by no means made it "right" after...

The service provided by my waitress was a pleasure and she was very kind and professional when relaying the fact they happened to be out of not only the liquor but both meals my partner attempted to order after putting in our order the 1st time ,to have to find out they didnt have that meal ,but for him to put in a 2nd order , only for the waitress to come back to tell us they dont have that either . And she tells us the cook said he can make him some other meal they had available . My partner of course went with the suggestion as there wasnt much else available on the menu is what it was made to sound like as the suggestion seemed more like something he was getting stuck with. All in all the meal turned out to be very good after all the back and forth of ordering and reordering. And also there have been some changes to their menu , a few different items and updates or a change of style of items . I wanted chicken tenders and got these chicken poppers that were not good at all . They were too big of square chunks of chicken that the breading was poorly made it didnt really have any texture the breading just fell off and wasnt really much to it at all. I disagree with this change . The poppers are terrible choice , texture ,size and taste.. Atleast they were kind enough to not want to charge my partners meal because of them being out of so many of his desired choices . I most always enjoy dining here . And hope they change back to their old chicken...

Beer amazing - the cinnamon, nutmeg and fall brew was a hit. I'll go back for more of that.

Food: banana pudding was banana soup - it looked yummy on top but once I put my spoon inside it was a soup and had bits of old bananas

Mac n cheese with brisket. - it was ok for an appetizer. the portion was a good size. It just seemed that it had been sitting and was on its last few minutes to be served.

The service. Wow! There were two people and one was the bartender. The lady who served is kept forgetting about our table, a six top ordered their food and got their food between us getting our appetizers and us having to remind her that we didn't have our food order. She forgot to put in my friends food order and didn't apologize but put it in when she brought our food out. His food was the freshest out of all of ours. I asked for BBQ sauce and never got it. My friend asked for lids for her old sides and she ended up walking out without lids. We had to ask for our bills after finishing eating because they had closed and the lady was cleaning and had turned the music up forgetting about us. She got our orders wrong when she split the check.

We started our experience at 8 pm and ended at 10:15 pm. I wish we had the male server who was very attentive to...
