The food is great, the waitresses are amazing. The issue I have is with one of the owners. Zack is nice. Nick is rude and cheap. A friend and I became regulars. Every morning except Sunday we would go in when they open and have coffee and pop and approximately a third of the time we would eat. We stay for about and hour to an hour and half max. My friend requests cold creamer. Not a big deal. They have the kind of creamer that doesn't need to be refrigerated but most people still like cold creamer with their coffee. Our waitress would simply grab a handful of cold creamer from the back refrigerator instead of making us use the room temperature creamer that's been sitting out all night. Not a biggie, the waitresses automatically knew to grab it after a while. One morning Nick stops our waitress as she's walking to the back to grab our creamer and tells her to make us use what's on the table (it's a small diner and he said it loud enough for us to hear). I really just don't understand why it's a huge deal. The creamer will be used later that day anyway why does it matter that we request cold creamer that takes like ten seconds to grab from the back. It's just rude and unnecessary for him to deny that simple request. We are not asking for a huge favor. The second outrageous thing was charging us $1 for water in a to go cup. Some days instead of pop I just get water. Twice a week on the mornings I donate plasma I ask the waitress for a to go water when I leave because you need to stay hydrated when you donate. Again, not a huge request. One morning as she's getting my water Nick says (once again, loud enough for us to hear) "next time she asks for a to go water charge her a $1, I have to pay for the ice plus those cups are like 10 cents each too". Seriously? I've literally NEVER in my life been charged for a to go water at a restaurant. If it was a bottled water I'd understand but not for water and ice in a Styrofoam cup. Some gas stations charge like 30 cents but those are gas stations. No restaurant (fast food or sit down) charges a paying customer $1 for a to go water. That was the last straw. I never returned. Oh and for a while there their heating vent thing was spewing out clumps of dust all over the one table it was right above and they kept seating people there. Ew. After a clump of greyish black dust landed on the coffee cup we asked to move tables and he look annoyed. He is obviously not cut out for the hospitality/food business. I know his mother helped fund him to open this restaurant and his best friend is his business owner so there's probably a lot riding on this diner doing well and making money and maybe he's stressed out about it but he needs to treat his customers, especially his regulars well if he wants to stay in business. It's a shame because his waitresses are great and so is the food. Even his best friend/business partner is nice but Nick can be really rude and unprofessional for no reason. So since he was being rude and cheap about the water and creamer, he has now lost two customers who, together, spent a minimum of $100 a month there just on coffee and pop alone, about a minimum of $40 a month on food. And because we were always there early when it was slow, we were occupying an otherwise empty booth. It just blows my mind he...

I have never been here before but I heard it was good so I wanted to try it out. I ordered the Trailer Tots. You can see on the menu it is under "Breakfast Entrees" but I was informed by the server that it was not in fact a breakfast entree and that it would cost too much to have the menus changed. Since it was not a breakfast entree, it would not be served with a choice of American fries or arugula salad nor a choice of protein like it states on the menu. They were also out of tater tots as well, so she suggested another potatoe option. I asked to try it on the American fries since it wouldn't come with that apparently. I also asked for a side of sausage since it didn't come with that either. I strongly suggest you don't do what I did and order a side of sausage. It was not tasty and therefore not worth the additional $4 and change.

I was also surprised that when I ordered coffee, I was not upsold to try one of their specialty coffees as these are popular there, but I didn't realize that until after I already ordered. I would have taken the suggestion if it was upsold to me.

My server could have been more attentive. I did have to ask for a refill and there was no empathy shown when I was informed of the menu errors.

I will say that my entree, whether I can call it that or not, was actually good. A little cold, but good nonetheless. I think this place has great potential to wow customers but it didn't happen this time unfortunately. I do not believe I...

I love Good Truckin Diner and they have really good food usually BUT I had a terrible experience the most recent time I went. It was snowing and cold out and we put our names down on their list and they said there would be a wait but that we would have to wait outside and if we weren’t out there when they called our name we wouldn’t be seated and would have to put our name down again and wait in queue. Me and my sister waited in the snow for maybe 30+ minutes!!! We were never checked on or asked if we wanted anything while we waited like a coffee or something to keep us warm. They have in their window that they “Love Lansing” if you loved Lansing you’d also love the people in it. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. If you are going to force people to wait outside in harsh conditions at LEAST get an awning and a heater for outside. And the fact that we could not wait in our cars because their policy is if you’re not outside when they call your name you have to be re-queued and wait in line AGAIN. Get some system where you can call or text guests when their table is ready. Many establishments do it. I understand if you’re busy or understaffed but there are many things that can be done to ensure that your guests are not waiting in the freezing cold for upwards of 30 minutes. Make a policy that guests can only stay for a certain amount of time so that others do not have to wait. Like I said there are many options...

I had been wanting to visit Good Truckin' Diner ever since I heard of it, but it's one of those morning to early afternoon spots that's a bit out of my way. Well, I'm glad my morning started a bit out of the way for me so that I could finally try them out. They're worth it. They're worth going out of the way for. The diner itself is a bit cozier than desired, leading me to worry about not being able to fit if I were to stop in with family. But the food and service make up for it. I ordered the Jacked-Up breakfast burrito (which you can also order as an omelette). Jackfruit, eggs, cheese, banana peppers, tots, special sauce, and smothered in the most wonderful cheese sauce. There's also a side of American fries. All through the time they were making the order, the server came over to me to assure me it was in the process of being made. I was in no hurry, but I appreciated the reassurance. And then the food looked and tasted so good. The only note I have is that I could have had a bit more of an acidic taste, so I should order salsa to go with it. Otherwise, basically perfection for my first time even ordering jackfruit. I would go again, and I'm going to try to do so soon. That burrito is one of many creative combinations that will make going back an adventure each time. And then there are daily specials on the board, too! This place almost has too much to offer.

Enjoyed Paddy’s Pub Waffle on the special’s board and my partner had the Bypass. We took a cereal shake to share, to-go. Arrived about 10a on a Sunday and lucked out as counter seats were available. Larger parties were waiting outside for tables to open. My stool needed some attention as I felt like a weeble-wobble balancing on a stick. Good strong coffee with prepackaged french vanilla creamer for me and a canned soda for my partner - they don’t appear to have fountain drinks. We had to ask for ice waters. It was fun watching the efficiency of those working in such a small space. Pacing was rough as my parters food came out significantly sooner than my waffle. I had my plate of crispy well-seasoned potatoes eaten before my waffle arrived. I was impressed he ate the whole omelette. The sausage gravy was surprisingly light - so many are thick and pasty. I enjoyed my waffle but wish the bacon bits had been hot rather than cold sprinkled as you would on a salad. And it could have used a hit of spice to waken the taste buds. The shake wasn’t too thick which was good as they didn’t have straws so we had to drink it. The texture was like a cocktail with icy chips in it … however you don’t want to drink the last bits as it is soggy cereal sand lol Great flavor, and perfect shareable post-breakfast size.
