Visited this restaurant again on Friday, September 18, 2023 and we had a really tasty meal. I ordered the coconut shrimp and fried cauliflower appetisers as they don’t offer many vegetarian options other than salads. My Mother ordered the seniors fried fish meal. The food and service was really good!
New update:
We went to Brian’s family restaurant for lunch and they did not have a vegetarian option on the menu. I had to get the special and they removed the chicken and took a $1 off the price. They left the stems on the peppers in my sandwich. Gross! 🤮 I also ordered the carrot 🥕 cake and it was dry. The serving was big so I split it with my relative. My Mom’s hot roast beef was just ok. Then, they charged out another customer’s order with our bill and they gave the other customer’s bill to us so the other customer paid $12 more plus tip.
Previous visit:
Brian’s Family Restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Lapeer just a short distance over the railroad 🛤 🚞 tracks heading South on M-24. It took a bit of time to get seated in the restaurant , approximately 20 minutes. We were waited on quickly and the server was friendly. Both my Mother and I ordered eggs 🥚 🍳 and hash brown potatoes 🥔. My Mother’s eggs that she ordered hard did not look very tasty. My family ordered onion 🧅 rings and they were hot and crispy. The bathrooms and restaurant was clean. The parking 🛻 🚗 was tight in the parking lot. I believe there was a smaller parking lot...
Read moreWent for breakfast, the place was about half full, got seated immediately. We sat for 20 minutes with at least a half dozen servers walking back and forth past our table. At one point someone took our drink order, two coffees, but never came back with them. I finally got up and asked the hostess/manager if we should leave or if they were going to actually serve us. They rushed over with water, placemats, silverware, water, and took our order. She brought the coffee immediately. 3 minutes later the person that took our original drink order, and never came back with it, comes over and starts giving us major attitude telling us how busy tgey are and how short handed they are.... really? There are a dozen empty tables literally right next to me and at least half a dozen servers, 3 buyers, 2 coffee people... OK. They brought out our food and to be honest, it was horrible. American cheese in the omelets and burnt veggie oil was used to cook the hashbrowns. The toast was good. While we were eating the attitude person came by with a huge tray of food, a minute later she dumped that tray all over another customers table. They left that sitting on the floor for at least 5 minutes with people stepping around it. Also, another person complained asking "who is...
Read moreStir fry was horrible. Teriyake? Marinade? Nothing but salty soy sauce. You can get good oriental or stir fry, sweet sour type sauces from your food supplier or make it. I suggest adding brown sugar, garlic, ginger, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil and maybe some sweet chili sauce, OJ or other fruit juice. Anything but what you used. Pinterest has plenty of really good recipes too. Chicken was very tough. ....Please stop serving this..... It shows no effort or imagination. Rice, veggies, chicken and bad marinade thrown together and plated. Nope. I was hungry and tired so I didn't send it back. Left most of it. To save money omit the water chestnuts and baby corn which are expensive and canned imported food can be low quality, they don't have safety cleanliness standards like the USA. Instead maybe use fresh carrots, bell peppers, to keep costs down, keep onion, broccoli, pea pods and pineapple. I do make it at home. It can be done. Service was great, atmosphere beautiful but you can't eat that. Sorry just...
