Menta Limón — Restaurant in Laredo

I recently placed an order for a cake at Menta Limon for pickup. When I arrived to pay with my debit card, I was charged an additional fee, which I didn’t mind. However during the payment process the screen prompted me to leave a tip. Since I was only picking up the cake, I didn’t feel a tip was necessary. Unfortunately the system wouldn’t allow me to complete the transaction unless I selected a tip amount since there was no visible option to skip it.

Feeling stuck I selected the lowest available tip, which was over $12. In total, I ended up paying close to $100 for a small cake. I reached out to Menta Limon to express my concern, not even asking for a refund but just suggesting they include a clearer skip tip option to avoid this kind of issue in the future.

Instead of listening, the person in charge was incredibly rude and blamed me for the mistake, insisting the skip option was there even though I genuinely didn’t see it. I wasn’t trying to argue or demand anything back, just hoping to share feedback for improvement. Unfortunately the response I received was dismissive and unprofessional.

I have been a loyal customer, but after this experience I won’t be returning. I’d rather support another local business that values their customers and handles feedback...

The food is great, but their customer service is terrible. Called to place an order for one of their snack trays, the person who took the call was rude and arrogant. Just yesterday a family member was contacted about an order that was placed to be notified that they will not be able to have it ready because they had completely booked their orders, when it was ordered ahead of time before their “deadline”. The person who called was arrogant as well and said there was nothing to be done. We have purchased trays for several family events several times and always recommended their trays. Sad to say they lost business from several families with us, we will never visit or purchase again. The person handling their social media account removed the post acknowledging the order deadline, very unprofessional behavior. Shame on you...

The chilaquiles are AMAZING! The flavors, textures and everything is there. That is the only reason I am giving them 5 stars. The price is good, some people say it’s expensive… well don’t eat out then. I am not rich and I am not poor, but I’ll always pay for quality food.

The place is beautiful, but the none commercial fridges make it look super weird with the amazing ambience.

Another thing that I didn’t like is that there was only 3 tables eating counting mine too. The other 2 tables already had their food so I was only waiting for mine. But 28 minutes for 1 plate? Yeah that’s not good. I am not mamon about waiting I don’t care I have nothing to do, but other people are super mamones on that.
