I am a frequent customer. I had a very unfortunate encounter at the drive-thru. I finished placing my order and as usual I got asked if I wanted to donate to the Children's Hospital. My answer that night was, "not today."
When I drive up to the window I make my payment and another employee comes up to the window and says with attitude, "Sir, do you want to round-up to donate to the children's hospital" It was the first time someone had to ask me a second time. I blew it off and said, "not today."
As the employee is closing the window, she says loud enough for me to hear, "WOW!!! NOT EVEN 49 CENTS!!"
I said, "excuse me? Is there a problem? Is donating each time mandatory?"
I called a manager on the phone and explained the situation. I was mostly disappointed in the unprofessionalism and self-righteous attitude that was coming from the employee. It can turn people off. He was very understanding and apologetic. He said he was going to bring the situation up at a meeting because it was not the first time something like that had happened. NOT THE FIRST TIME.
Today, I went inside the restaurant, no longer feeling comfortable to go through the drive-thru. I get kindly treated by one of the servers.
I take my plate to go, as I finish filling up my fountain drink. Three of the employees are whispering in their ear, looking right at me, and one of them pointing their finger. (One of the employees was the one present when I made my order that night in the drive thru. I immediately noticed when I walked in but I was already trying to avoid her.) Feeling uncomfortable, I ask. Is there a problem? They blush, they get nervous, and quickly went somewhere else. One of the employees said, "no sir, there' no problem."
I get in my car but decide to talk to the manager to let them know of what's been going on. I politely ask if we could talk on the side.
The manager is already a ware of who I am. She does not apologize on their behalf and defends their behavior saying, "our employees are trained to stay vigilant and remain observant of everyone. You have no way of knowing if they were talking about you. As per the donations, it's their job. They are doing their job."
The manager enabled that behavior. And when behavior is enabled the employees will feel empowered to keep treating customers with disrespect. There is a lack of professionalism happening at this restaurant and there needs to be some retraining so that the employees don't find themselves in these socially unaware situations. I would not recommend coming here until this...
Read moreWent there and the service was horrible. First of all, I had to wait 2-5 minutes on someone to serve my food while the restaurant was almost empty. Then after they finally served it(with the Orange Chicken to Fried Rice ratio being 1:4 and the bowl wasn't filled to the top like other one in Laredo),they took another 2-5 minutes till someone went to the register and told me how much it would cost. I was going to pay with a hundred dollar bill and then they told me to wait ten minutes, after all that had happened (I'm an impatient person) I still said ok because I was hungry and had already ordered my food to go (lol). After those ten minutes, I asked the manager, and with an ugly tone he answered "I told you to wait ten minutes till the safe opens" (additionally, I had also noticed him mistreating the cashiers and few ladies serving the people there ex. talking rudely to them, unnecessarily rushing them). my parents were waiting for me in the car and my mom also got impatient (after waiting for me for almost forty minutes)so she got off the car and came to talk to the manager and asked to exchange the food I had received for the money. All of that was a pure waste of time! After that, I went to the one near Target to satisfy my Chinese Food craving. So much better service over there and with...
Read moreHorrible service. Ordered 2x medium A la carte chow mein through drive thru, but all I got were cold vegetables with almost no chow mein. Went to get a refund or exchange for new chow mein, but the lady said they were out. She said they would give me my order the next time I visit if I bring my receipt. In my next visit I choose to dine in and order a plate along with my two a la carte chow mein sides and an order of veggie spring rolls for my fiancée, but the guy taking our order was rude and barely paying attention to what I was saying. At the cash register I present him with the receipt, and he only gives me $1.50 discount for the previous disappointment of a dinner. Then he does not even include the spring rolls in my order. Fiancée was VERY disappointed. To add context, we had been waiting almost 20 minutes for fresh food to be made, and the line behind us was long so I did not try to make a scene for their sake because everybody looked upset. The food was also bland. NEVER going again. One star...
