Paulita's Restaurant — Restaurant in Laredo

The tortillas are never fresh. They always look and feel like like they've been sitting there all morning. They are usually at least warm when I come home with my plate. I assume the tortillas would get reheated on the stove. This time, they were cold and falling apart, like they reheated them in a microwave or they were sitting around in foil on a hot plate. It just feels like this location on McPherson doesn't care to be consistent in quality. I stopped ordering plates from this location even before COVID for these reasons. They're even downsizing in portions now. There is hardly any bacon in both mine and my husband's plate. Paulitas raised their prices sometime in the past few years like all other restaurants across the country. But they give you less when you're paying more.

I would expect different when the people of Laredo are the ones who helped make them what they are today. Paulitas McPherson takes advantage of that loyalty and the fact that most of us have the mentality of never complaining and just being grateful for...

I decided to go to Paulita's for lunch with my wife and baby. It was nearing my time to get back to work so asked for my tab. I then walked up to the counter to pay and saw a little roach walking around. I gave the cashier my ticket that the waitress had given me so they can ring me up. The lady said that my card wasn't going through so I gave her another card and that was told that one didn't work either. The lady told me that her system wasn't working. The lady who I think is the owner then comes and asks me for cash and I told her I didn't have any. She told me to go to the ATM down the street but I told her I was going to be charged for it since I don't bank with IBC. She made faces and I finally got fed up of waiting and had my wife go to chase and take out cash. It was quite embarrassing standing around and having people stare at me with my son like if I didn't have the funds to pay. I was over 30 minutes late to work from my lunch hour and not one sorry or anything. The lady had a smug look on her face...

I like Paulita's, but not this location. Place was barely half full, we ordered tacos and the tortillas were hard and stale, and I'm not talking about crispy. Since when I placed my order I also ordered onion lime and cilantro for my tacos, but it never came. They brought my tacos but not the lime onion or cilantro, so I reminded the waiter again. About 5 min passed and no one turned to see me so I got up to the counter and asked for it myself since my food was getting cold. The lady said she would take it to my table, about 3 min later they took it but not the limes. The salsa cup they took us was ridiculously low, I'm talking about a small cup and it was about 1/5 full. Service here is the worst I have experienced at any Paulita's. The best service and food in my experience is at their loop...
