Los Magueyes Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Largo

I was in the mood for Taco Tuesday and I was trying to find somewhere and remembered this place. Worst decision ever. I couldn't even get to the food because the customer service was so terrible my family and I left as soon as the drinks came. The initial hostess ignored me as soon as I approached the booth and said hello. When I tried to ask or suggest where I would like to sit she looked everywhere else but in my direction and then said how many? Right this way. The place wasn't packed at all. Only 6 tables seated in the center on the right side as you walked in. She then sat us on the other side away from the rest of the people in the establishment. As we sat down I explained that I was trying to ask if I could sit on the same side as everyone else but in the booth. She stated that she was moving everyone to the same side as she placed us...and never did. I tried to explain that I was asking if it was okay to sit at a specific section and she responded with an attitude. I ignored because she was young and clearly inexperienced when it comes to customer service. I wanted to say she was having a bad day because I wanted to make an excuse for her behavior as I came to enjoy Taco Tuesday and have fun with my younger siblings and mother. Everything I asked her she replied with an attitude and I just couldn't understand as I came in with good energy and smiles. I was still persistent to make the evening a good one. After bringing us our drinks I decided I just wanted a different server. She sarcastically says no problem I'll go get my sister or my mother. The sister came with an attitude. She asked if we were ready and before I could even finish my sentence she walks off. At that point I said enough is enough. My mother said she also noticed but didn't want to say anything. I'm not going to beg anyone to take my money. I'm also not a person that only speaks about the negative experiences as I love to celebrate accomplishments and good experiences with businesses, especially small and local ones. I had only been there once before and had a good time with my friend. The bartender was great and kept the drinks flowing but the food was okay from what I could remember. I wanted to bring my family mainly because of how great of the experience and customer service was NOT the food. I'm huge on how you treat people and even though the food wasn't memorable the customer service was and that's what brought me back until today. As we decided to leave the mother approached us and we told her that we've decided to go elsewhere and she fanned us away and said go. She then caught herself and tried to change her tune and asked why what happened? As I began to explain she cut me off and fanned me away again and walked off. I didn't argue, I just simply left and went to enjoy Taco Tuesday elsewhere...

We have been here a couple of times and love the atmosphere and it’s close to home. I don’t like Mexican food myself but my husband loves it so we go and I usually just order kids chicken tenders and fries but lately I have just ordered a side of grilled chicken with fries at all of the Mexican restaurants we go to and it works out better! Today we went here and I ordered a side of grilled chicken and fries and asked that they make the chicken well done because the last few times the chicken comes out just a little warmer than room temperature and I want my food hot so I figured if I ask for it well done they will cook it a little longer and it would be hotter than it has been in the past. So I get my chicken today and it was room temperature at best again some was even cooler to touch. So I politely asked if they could just make it warmer that it wasn’t warm at all and they got all offended and said they don’t usually do that dish anyway and if they cook it longer it would be brown and I said that it was ok if it was browned that I would just like it hot or warm. So they took it and when another lady brought it back to me she said “now don’t wait 20 minutes to eat it and it won’t get cold” and I was like Omg! I didn’t wait 20 minutes I didn’t even wait 2 minutes when they brought the first plate out but it wasn’t warm from the first bite. I was hungry and like my food hot or at least warm so I don’t wait to eat my food. She offended me at that point! Anyways the guy working, not sure who he was (looked like could be manager or owner) just got all mad about it and wouldn’t even look at us. Didn’t say thank you or anything when we left. I did not mean to offend them in any way. I was trying to be as polite and nice about it as I could be but I don’t like cold chicken. The waiter was very nice and polite and although we did like the place I don’t think we will go back, there are too many other Mexican restaurants to pick from. He shouldn’t have taken offense to me wanting my food hot and the lady should not have insinuated that I waited 20 minutes to eat my food when I most...

So... I wouldn't recommend going to this place if you have a bigger party, b/c they aren't very accommodating. I'm not sure if she was the manager or the owner, but she is rude as hell! We had a good number of people who were meeting there before going to see Christmas lights. One guy went in earlier that afternoon to give them a courtesy heads up that we would be coming. She wouldn't have anything to do with it and said I can't seat everyone at 1 table. That's not what we were asking. Just to be sat in the same area. She wouldn't agree. Then, later that night, when we started showing up, she was nasty with my friend, saying we couldn't sit together b/c there were only 3 servers. 2 of us were there first, and she wouldn't let us get a table for 6. Then the rest of the group came in, and they sat them on the other side of the restaurant! So then there were 2 of us away from the others. The place was only not even busy! I could kind of understand if they were. I went to ask if the 2 of us could move over with the others. She said no. Mind you, there was an empty 4 top right next to them! When I asked why not, she proceeded to tell me that no one told her there was going to be a big group, Which was not true as someone was there that afternoon and my friend had asked when she first came in. During that conversation, new people came in the front door behind me. She immediately stopped talking to me and proceeded to pick up menus, walked around me to greet the new people, sat them, and never said another word to me. There were 3 other employees standing around that could have done that. Just RUDE! She even sent the host to come and take my order after that, even though she started my order. Lol If you want to go pay for someone to be rude, then that's the place to go! That's not how you should run a business. If it hadn't been last minute and since it was the plan for the group to meet there for weeks, and we were afraid people wouldn't get the change of venue in time, we would have gone somewhere else as they clearly didn't want...
