I came here because the place I wanted to eat only offered pick up for orders placed ahead. I was hungry, so I ended up here.
Dining room was big and clean. I appreciated that menu board was located where it was easy to read.
There weren't many vegetarian options (I wasn't expecting to find many), but I did see a couple on the menu (vegetarian burrito and cheese enchiladas.) I didn't ask if their beans are vegetarian. I planned to eat in my car, so I opted for the vegetarian burrito. (The menu board did not list burrito ingredients. I didn't ask what was on the burrito. )
The lady who took my order was efficient. I was surprised by how quickly the burrito was ready for me. I got it fast!
I took the burrito out to my car and started chomping on it. It tasted really good. I was really hungry. I really liked the spicy green sauce that came in the bag. I didn't like the red sauce nearly as much. I liked that I could sauce the burrito to my liking.
I started eating and could taste rice, beans, lettuce, cilantro, and tomatoes. I kept waiting to hit cheese or guacamole or even sour cream. No. There was none of that. I never even hit a whole bean. Honestly, the burrito was filled mostly with rice, second mostly with lettuce, with a bit of refried beans, and a bit of pico de gallo. I paid $9.14 for mostly rice and tortilla. Yes, it tasted good (especially drenched in the spicy green sauce), but for $9, I expect some cheese.
I would not...
Read moreDaisy was very sweet and hospitable. The food was great 👍. My daughter ordered the shredded beef tacos with double rice in place of refried beans. The tacos were full of tasty shredded beef, which wasn't dry at all. We've gone to busy, local fave restaurants, and my daughter always orders shredded beef tacos where the beef has been overcooked and dried out. Not the case here. She also enjoyed the double portion of Spanish rice. My husband and I ordered the dozen tacitos of half chicken and half beef with guacamole and cheese. They were delicious and fed us until our pansas were full, also with four to take as leftovers. The salsas were hot, as in spicy and tasty. We chose this restaurant because we were VERY limited for restaurants open after 8:30 or 9:00 that weren't a Chili's or Applebee's type restaurant. When in Cruces, we always want Mexican food. Alanberto's is open until 10:00 pm, by the way. We showed up at 9:00 pm. Two other families with little children strolled in after us and seemed like they might have been regulars. I also want to mention the happy hostess/cashier, Daisy, once more, because she was hospitable and accommodating. Most young people don't want to work, are for the most part unpleasant, and usually show in their attitude that they don't want to be there. Especially a late night dinner outing. My family and I recommend and will be back sometime again when in Las Cruces and are in need of a restaurant to be open later...
Read moreWe stop in Las Cruces for the day after a 9+ hour drive from TX to CA for a break and the kids wanted Mexican. I of course looked for Mexican food reviews and came across Alanberto’s and thought we’d give it a try. They did not disappoint. My girls are very picky when judgmental when it comes to authentic Mexican food and they ate every bite of it. They had a carne asada burrito and they were surprised to find out that their burrito contained all meat and not filled with rice and beans. The meat was tender and very delicious. The flour tortillas tasted like handmade as well. My husband and I both had the chicken and beef rolled taquitos with a side of rice and beans and they were both topped with sour cream and guacamole and shredded cheese. Let me tell you, they did not hold back!! Taquitos were good size and also very delicious as well as the rice and beans. Definitely recommend this place. We would definitely go back whenever we drive back through here that’s for sure. The price was also very reasonable. Place was very clean as well. Didn’t take any pictures because we were way too hungry to even think about it. But trust me when I say the servings were...
