I have been a regular customer at Boba Café for many years. Chris was an excellent owner and had a great staff and environment. But, with the new owner, things have changed. My brother and I went there for lunch today. We sat down at a 4-top so we would have room to be comfortable. At that time there were 5 empty 4-top tables. Our server Erica, came up to us and demanded that we move to a tiny 2-top up against the wall and crowded between to other occupied tables. My brother said to her, "I am a big guy and I'm not going to fit here". She said they have to save the bigger tables for larger parties. We squeezed into the tiny area and she took our drink orders. We waited 20 minutes for Erica to come back to get our food order and a total of 50 minutes before we got our food. When she did finally bring our food, I told her we had been waiting for 50 minutes and now have to rush to get back to work. She walked away and came back a few minutes later saying that we had only waited 24 minutes for our food. I explained to her that we waited 20 minutes before she took our order. She snapped back saying we should read the sign on the door about them being short staffed. I explained to her that I own 2 business and understand. Which at that point she interrupted me and yelled, "First you complained about your table and now you are complaining about your service. You are welcome to just leave!" She yelled this as she was walking away from our table. We quickly ate our meal as I looked around the restaurant, counting the 5 same empty 4-top tables. The place was never close to being full. About 5 minutes before we left, 2 people came in and sat down at the same 4-top we had been at. Erica happily greeted them and made no demand on them to move. I honestly do not know what set her off to the point she had to be so rude. Maybe she was having a bad day but, you put that aside and do not take it out on customers. I don't care how short staffed I may be, if I had an employee talk to my customer the way Erica talked to me, they would be fired immediately. There is no room for rude service. So beware, if you go to Boba Café and have Erica as your server. Be prepared to bow down to her and her demands because the customer's best interest will not be...

I was a new customer and went there strictly for the Boba Tea. I've had other Boba around the city and wanted to try something new...that was a mistake.
I told the server who took my order that I've never been there before but wanted to try the Boba, I then asked if there were any special/seasonal drinks right now or if they had any recommendations. They respondend by telling me they've never had the Boba before, which seems strange in a restaurant called Boba Cafe but I guess that's possible. After an awkward moment they then said that the coconut seemed popular and directed me to a menu on the wall with a list of random flavors. There was no actual menu given to me and I'm unsure if one exists, again just the menu on the wall with a list of flavors. I then asked if they had a Taro Boba Tea (a common Boba flavor) to which they at first didn't know what it was but then said that they did have it. So, I ordered Taro and a coconut Boba Tea and while they were making the drinks they then told me they didn't actually have the Taro. This was disappointing but I still wanted to try the drinks so I settled with a coconut Boba Tea and a regular Boba Tea. My overall experience with the staff made me feel that for a new customer there wasn't a lot of knowledge to be shared.
The tea's themselves are nothing special. They literally just add a flavored syrup to any drink and then add Boba on top of that. Not bad but again, nothing special. The Boba itself though, is a little different. The pearls are physically hard, making the Tea difficult to drink and the Boba hard to chew. Overall it was not an enjoyable drink and definitely not an enjoyable Boba Tea.
With the establishment called Boba Cafe I thought there would be an emphasis on the Boba Tea as a drink but maybe that was too much to expect. The Boba is secondary to their menu and their staff, if not less so and If you're looking for a good Boba Tea I would suggest looking elsewhere (Lotus Boba Tea being one of my favorites). There are good places here in town that offer more thought, experience and care...
Read moreWhen entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted with a may I help you from a young man. So we walked up to him at the counter and apparently missed the low sign saying wait to be seated. We looked around for menus or a board and was about to ask for help choosing something to eat when a young woman at the counter shouted over us that she could help the person who walked in after us. The young man asked what we would like and eventually gave a menu. We got out of the way since nobody seemed interested in whether we wanted to sit down to eat or grab take out. We put in our order and the young woman said about 10 minutes for our food. Then she walked away without offering a seat. We sat at a table anyway and the young man brought our drinks. On time the young woman packaged our order and made a show of bringing it to the door and then our table. I asked why we weren’t allowed to eat at the restaurant, and she said normally when people get a menu at the counter they want it to go and then pointed out a dark sign at knee height that said wait to be seated. I said we didn’t know the rules and hadn’t been there before. I was upset and told her she could keep the food. She turned her back and walked away. Halfway to the counter with her back turned and in a more direct route then she came with the food she said have a good day. I took the lack of service and disrespect personally, that’s why I trashed the drinks and let them have the food. Didn’t bother with a refund because I didn’t want to completely...
