Was excited to try the chai latte but the flavor was just not there, it was very powdery and chunky, it honestly just tasted like warm milk, once I got to the bottom I saw it was all clumpy and probably made from a mix. For $5 I’m pretty disappointed. Definitely over priced for lukewarm cinnamon tasting powder chunks did not taste like chai at all. And not to be too critical (so I don’t get some attitude from the owner responding to this remark, as they seem to have done to others bringing this up) but I don’t understand how this “plant based” coffee shop does not serve cows milk in the drinks but I’m assuming the cheese on the pizza and nachos is made from cows milk? And meats like pepperonis! Kind of confusing so I’m not sure why there is no cows milk in the drinks? Kinda weird to be so condescending to customers pointing this odd idea out! As I’ve seen this cafe is trying to be different from other but this honestly just makes no sense
Not a fan of the snarky and condescending responses on these reviews. When you are in hospitality, the customer is always right, they are paying the bills after all. No reason to be so rude. Sometimes taking accountability and apologizing is all it takes. I’m no business owner, but these little remarks aren’t exactly a good look on the “owner” or whomever is trusted to respond. As a new customer I’m not exactly inclined to visit this location, especially seeing how any issue I may bring up to management will most likely be brushed off in such a passive aggressive way, like in these reviews. Criticism should be encouraged, we love grounded and want it to be even better! No need to take it so harsh, we know you put a lot of love and effort into this place, but being opened minded is needed when dealing with complaints. Customers have a much different outlook and perspective. Which can be helpful should you...
Read moreHi, I went in tues evening placed an order over the phone for 2 pizzas to go-
When i got there I paid for my order & the employee said the pizza wasn’t ready yet & To go ahead & have a seat . I was a bit surprised because it had been called in at least half an hour earlier.
Anyways, sat down and waited a bit— I then realized 2 pizzas were sitting boxed up on the shelves . When I asked the other employee (behind pizza counter) whose pizzas those were — they were in fact mine!
So, if I continued waiting - I guess I would have been waiting a while since there was no communication between the front and the pizza chefs.
The employee behind the pizza counter asked me if my “payment went through..?”
Um yes it did, and what a strange question to ask.
Do you see the issue here?
Some communication between the cashier & pizza cooks would have made the situation a lot less awkward and silly.
Also I saw another review about someone not knowing you only had plant based milks for their drinks. That is in no way clear on your website or Google listing ,and it’s a bit odd that a “plant based” bar serves cow cheese and pork pepperoni on their pizza, not to mention up charges for plant-based milks.
The response was beyond rude and completely unprofessional, insinuating that she didn’t have an open mind. Wow.
You have mentioned that a couple times in your responses to customers commenting about the non cow milk sitch, & honestly that took away more stars from my review.
That gives me an idea of your attitude towards...
Read moreAmazing vibe and gourmet quality food. Discovered this place during a recent Farmer's Market outing, and I have gone back twice since then in less than a week's time. Initially drawn to their beautiful fountain courtyard outdoor seating, which is pet-friendly, I came back for the food. Their pizza in particular is amazing. If you love Café Italia pizza (in El Paso) you will love the pizzas here as well, as it's the closest you'll taste to the iconic Café Italia pizza crusts and Smoky mozza without having to drive to EPTX. Their entreé bowls are delicious, as are the flatbreads. The food presentation is also beautiful. I find myself craving their food again as I type this! The only drawback is that there is no table service (unless you're ordering wine or beer, in which case they'll bring the drink to your table--but not any food you might have ordered with it). Of course this is only inconvenient if you're dining there alone with a pet as you have to leave the pet alone outside to go place your order, and again later to retrieve your food (or non-alcoholic drink) when it's called out over the intercom system. But that's just a small logistical inconvenience considering what a gem of a find this is and how great the food is as well. The spacious interior is just lovely--the mid-century modern/bohemian decor, the diverse patron base, the art...this place is so much more than just a...
